start writing them down, but don't pass 'em on to your kids - wait to give 'em to your grandkids. That way you'll REALLY be the cool grandma and your kids will be mortified.

I do it on my computer, and save it, and when it's done I save it to a CDR so that I have them. But I have notebooks sitting around here with chapters and ideas written in them. In fact I just bought a new one.
