Calling all cars, calling all cars

Be on the lookout for Noddy's car
last-seen, travelling west

The driver is a Betty Boop lookalike
and is accompanied by a viscious pit-bull terrier
which, when last seen
was looking out of the trunk

approach with caution

You are not alone Sis'

Even as a site supporter
I found pages taking more than a few minutes to upload and refresh
Another member had display prob's on her computer
which I suspect had something to do with techy business going on in the background
[webby learning curve]

However it has improved during the earlier evening and I am late signing out
in this now much improved state of forum inertia :D

Logging in from the Inland Passage, in Alaska. Dear Golden Eagle friends, you are in my thoughts and prayers! The scenery here shows the Lord's majesty.

Right you are on the terrific Alaska cruise. Think of me when you disembark in Vancouver. I bet you are having a great time.
BTW this afternoon part of my problem was although no one else was home, my son had left his computer downloading. Once I stopped it things did imporve a lot. And they are great now. Jan

How wonderful for you. My husband and I are planning a trike trip to Alaska in 2011 (have to wait til kids graduate). We are planning on getting a camper that goes on behind our bike and camp along the way. Planning on it taking about 6 months.

I have a question which might seem silly but why do the ads etc. affect the web site? And what are display probs?

in order of receipt

Advertisements, HELP support the site
both to rent server space and pay necessary expenditure [perhaps]
alternatively, to BUY new equipment and necessary software updates

Having Advertisements LOAD before...... forum pages
can be a tedious wait for Dial-Up users... and they, will find this
an EXPENSIVE waste of time

Site Supporters do not have-to wait for Ads [if they do not wish to]
as they, can check a box which will exclude them as I do

Display problems, being experienced by a sister here
relates to a part, of her profile page
overlapping another display pane on the same page
and partially obscuring it
This, she tells me, doesnt occur on other sites she visits

I do not myself experience this anomoly
Techies here have been advised
It may be just a case of, some cell-padding needs attention/ adjustment

I hope this has explained sufficient for you to get understanding of
previous statements Mickey [?]

Are you going to store you camper in Vancouver Canada or Seatlle before you head out on the Cruise liner? Or are you going to take the ferries up. Not sure how far they go though and of course they are not so luxurious. However after a prolonged camping spell the luxury may be just what you need. It sounds awesome. Jan

No cruise is planned yet - we plan on motoring up to Anchorage. Hubby is afraid of boats - it is our big retirement trip. We live in MI and will be traveling the top two layers of states ending up in WA and then heading up along the coast to Anchorage. Leaving late April/May and returning sometime in October (deer hunting season).
