Rock Star : Supernova

So, has anyone else been watching Rock Star this season? Have any favorite singers?


I personally am liking Dilana a lot. She's intense. I think it's nice to hear a woman who doesn't have the pop-star voice they're looking for on shows like American Idol.

my comments on last nights show........

Lukas - Bittersweet Symphony - not my kind of music, but I think he's perfect for Supernova, based on what we heard this week of the upcoming music. I think he looks pretty geeky with all the makeup, but whatever....... his musical performance was top-notch. A

Zayra - Call Me - musically pretty much a dead-on Deborah Harry. I'm a Blondie fan from wayyy back, so when I closed my eyes, I enjoyed the performance. But this gal is doing nothing to make it her own. The blue outfit was - interesting - but it didn't help. I think the guys enjoyed looking at her, but they weren't impressed with the sound. C

Dana - About A Girl - I LOVED this (my favorite performance of the night) - but I don't think Dana is the right gal for the job. She's too talented, IMHO. And too "well-adjusted" - to borrow the term from Dave's comment. I thought she sounded a lot like Jewel, actually. Which I loved - but it's not Supernova. B

Patrice - Remedy - Boring. D

Toby - White Wedding - I don't believe him. I used to LOVE Billy Idol during the days of that song - and I don't think Toby gets that song at all. He sang it well enough to win the highschool talent show, but not well enough to win a recording contract. C

Magni - Heroes - Blah. C-

Ryan - I Alone - I think this was GREAT. I enjoyed his performance, I believed him. (my second-favorite after Dana) I think he needs to go solo. B+ or A-

Jill - Brown Sugar - another really good performance - but I don't think she's right for the band. The guitar was good, though. B

Phil - One Headlight - Ugh. D

Dilana - Time After Time - I absolutely love Cyndi Lauper, and I thought Dilana's performance of this song was about all I could expect of anyone attempting to cover her. It made her seem more human, less demonic. Her little Dolce-And-Gabbana-looking outfit was cute too. B+ or A-

Josh - No Rain - Blah. D

Storm Large - Anything Anything - Good Job - Crazy and still gorgeous - A

Top three in terms of the show: Lukas, Ryan, and either Storm or Dana.

Top three for me: Dana, Ryan, Jill

Bottom three: Phil, Josh, Patrice

I love LOVE Magni, Dilana and Toby. Those are the 3 I want to see in the top at the end. I can't stand Dana, and I hate Zayra with the passion of a thousand suns. LOL I call her Zelvira.

Dana's too little girly, she's too saccharine to fit in. Come on, they're looking for someone who can party down with Tommy Freaking LEE!! They said once, they're looking for someone who will fall off the stage. They want Ozz-fest. Lukas has the "look" but I don't feel he has the maturity to do it. He reminds me of a little boy playing dress-up.

I have to separate what they want from what I personally like - I do not have the same taste as "Tommy Freaking Lee" - lol, heaven forbid....

I was not home for the follow-up show - who had the encore, and who was in the bottom three, and who got booted?

I have been watching the show. I really like Dilana and Magni.

I'm not a Dilana fan, she has that smokers voice that just makes me hurt. I can't believe that zyrha, or however you spell that, is still there. I don't think that she can sing all that well and neither can Patrice. Ryan is growing on me a little. I also think that Storm has now killed two legends, David Bowie and Queen!!! I thought that she did horrible! I like Toby but not always the same with Magni.

We watched last year because we love INXS!!! We even went to the concert!!! I think that the singers they have this year pale in comparison to the singers they had last year!!! It is just nice to have some good rock music instead of American Idol stuff on TV!!!

I am not a fan of Zayra either. Her costumes are way too crazy and the band doesn't seem like they want to be that far out there. You know?

But she's entertaining and sexy. She's there for eyecandy.

And have you ever heard of a little internet site called Vote For The Worst? Yeh, you have them to thank for Zelvira still being around.

Zayra is horrible! That girl should've been sent home first. I see her possibly having a career as a Shakira impersonator...

I'm still liking Dilana a lot. She's just different. She's pretty consistent with putting on a good show. I could see her fronting Supernova.

Toby was my second favorite before, but he hasn't really been impressing me all that much since the first episode. I'm sure he's still getting the votes though because he's cute and has the Aussie accent.

I can't understand a word Lukas says, but Supernova seems to like him. His voice just annoys me.

Lukas annoys me all around. His voice - that scary-pretty-boy thing, and he's a POSER..... who can't see that? he looks to me like he'd be more at home being an RA at a boys' boarding school......

I thought Ryan's attempt at scariness was laughable, but his vocals were good.

Dilanna seems the likeliest choice right now.....

(already missing SoulBoy - he had the best voice)

Delana and Toby are the best, IMHO, but the guys really like Magni. And he's good, too.

I had JD picked out by the 3rd week last year. If I had to pick right now for this year, I'd pick Delana...but I'm just not sure. I'd like to see her in front of Tommy Lee...see how that looks. I bet they do that real soon.

I had picked JD last year too. It wasn't who I really wanted but when we went to see them live he did an excellent job. You could close your eyes and think it really was Michael Hutchins up there! As for this year, I just really can't pick because they all are kind of bad. I am not a delana fan at all so I don't agree with you there. She has gotten better though. The first few weeks she was really annoying me though, all she ever did was stand there and stare with those big eyes and some hood on her head, it was scary!

Dilena was awesome last night! I don't like The Cat's in the Cradle one bit, but she had me singing along with her. And like Dave, I had chill bumps after she finished.

I wish the guys would send "Z" home. She makes my head hurt.

I am going with Dilana or Magni though I think Dilana should win.

I thought that her performance was bland and boring. It's funny how we all have different ears!!! Magni looked very nice though! Z does need to go home, she is so not right for that band!!!

I thought Zayra was better last night because she performed something she wrote. I don't think she's right for the band and should be send home.

I still like Dilana and Magni.

I really didn't like Patrice's performance last night and have been on the fence about her over the past few weeks.

I love Patrice, I hope she doesn't get voted off, but she's not really right for the band, which is the point anyway. She's great though, classy and really steady.

Well, I got 2 things last night!!!! First, I got to see Delana with SuperNova - and she rocked!!!! Second, I got to see Zayra go home! It's about time, too. She is SO not right for that band.

I predict either Storm or Patrice to go home next week - most likey Patrice, as she's been in the bottom three 4 (?) times - the fans don't think she's right for the band...
