Hi!!

I was into Robotech for a good six or seven months back in 1998. I had seen it on Cartoon Network and then started reading the books. I actually have all 12 of the series novelizations, plus the five sentinels books and the additional 4 tie-in novels. I still haven't seen but the first couple episodes of New Generation, though. I probably should start going back and reading them again.

I got Macross Plus: Movie Edition a few months ago. Little did I know that it was hardsubbed and had no English audio. So I'll probably have to go get the individual OVA discs also, just so that I might be able to use more footage in my videos.

I was so into the technics behind it that I actually frequented a website that went through practically everything in the series. http://www.artemisgames.com/robotech/ReferenceGuide.html
^^That was it. I can't believe I found it again, after all these years. And I still have to say I think the Alpha Veritechs were the coolest ones.

Greets! I too was in to Robotech way back when. Liked the first part first, Macross or whatever it was called. Those three Zentraedi spies were the best:

Trying to figure a swimsuit competition:

"But why would they make such skimpy armor?"
"Maybe those're the only parts of a human female that are vulnerable."
"I still think it's a secret weapon made to look like a female."

Hilarious.

I'm an experienced film/TV/commercial 2-D animator that recently has learned the basics of Maya and 3DSMax modeling and animation.

The Macross Saga would have to be my favorite of the three sagas of Robotech. Seemed to have a more complex storyline than the Masters or New Generation. Of course, since all of them were originally separate series it's amazing they "fit" under one banner of one single series here in America so well.

Saw the first Macross film. HATED the dubbing. Never was able to see "Robotech: the Movie". (Has anyone? Supposedly takes place in between Macross and Masters) Although I do know the animation was taken from another Japanese film entitled Megazone 23...which has nothing whatsoever to do with Macross.

Still have all the original novels when they first came out. And...still think Minmei is a ditz.

You guys should see all of the silly Robetech references that end up in my rep comments and in my PMs. It's great!

When I played PS2 Everquest, my name was also Breetai. About half of the members in my guild had Robotech names. It wasn't uncommon to see a group of guys with the names Breetai, Khyron and Zolprime running around killing monsters.:)

One of the Robotech references went like this in the main Lutheran thread:

I just did those Catholic True and False quizes and got my butt whooped a bit. I got 75%, 90%, 70% and 70%. Our buddy Danhead is in the top 3 on, I believe, 3 out of the 4.

Yes. He(Danhead) has been in some intensive training for LDF.

That's just one example of some of the crazy conversations I find myself in.:)

Rechtglaubig is the other Lutheran Robotech fan.

Sounds typical. Alotta things tend to get lost in translation.

I recall there was a series entitled "The Sentinals" which began with Rick and Lisa's wedding that was at least within VHS format within the late 80s. But, it only reached a full 3 episodes and was never complete. However, the series found it's way into Novel form and spanned 5 books if I remember right.

There was another book following this. I forgot what it was called. However, it joined all 3 original generations of Robotech and tied all the loose ends regarding the disappearance of the task force and all.
