Oh nomad, how maddening!! I once had to move because somebody kept trying to break in. I think the problem is, once they figure out they can, and once they figure out you have something valuable, they keep coming back for more. I hope you aren't driven out of your house!
It's so good you have an inventory! That's brilliant. I think it will help a lot. Keep the police reports. Sad to say, the burglaries and moving eventually did bankrupt me. :o Not to scare you... there were other factors as well, but what helped me qualify for a mortgage earlier than I "Should" have is that I gave them the years-old police reports. It showed a "causal" effect to the bankruptcy. So just in case, keep your records!
If you don't have a big dog, might want to get one. I got two Russian wolfhounds... 98 and 123 lbs. and just huge. Most people don't really know what kind they are so they treat them gingerly. They are actually very friendly, but that growl will stop you in your tracks! It doesn't have to be a pit bull or anything-- just something that most people wouldn't tangle with. Bonus points if you get two of them... very few people would take that chance. But if you get just one, females are more protective.
Or, you can go along with my friend... when a security adviser told him "keep something in your house that makes a lot of noise" i.e. wind chimes in an unexpected spot that would be knocked into by an intruder, my friend said, "My shotgun makes a lot of noise!"![]()
and God Bless you goodgirl. I thought about getting a big dog just to keep me company. I'm with you about the pit bulls, I'm not overly fond of them myself. I've been very seriously considering purchasing a shotgun for self defense. Most of the Police officers that I have dealt with have not only suggested it but have went so far as to explain my rights and use of firearms to protect myself and my home. The Police are getting so tired of the crooks they want these crooks punished enough to deter them from doing it again. Thanks sis for your prayers!!
