Yeah, we cool, bro. :) It is actually pretty cool how the Republicans allowed a person of another religion to speak at the RNC. As a centrist who is Christian, it just seemed bad why folks would pray to another God on TV, but this is out of my control. Plus hey, America has free speech, so banning that prayer would be banning free speech.
Folks weren't praying.

A prayer was being offered on their behalf to the god she believes in to do well by them, a god she believes in just as sincerely as you believe in Jesus. A nice gesture, really.

I understand. Plus, with the demographic of the folks at the RNC, most probably did not pray to the Waheguru.

Probably not. I had not even heard of Waheguru until you started this thread.

Me neither, until hearing about it on July 17, 2024 from @Michie's post in the Catholic part of the Christian Forums. I am not that well versed, pun intended, in Asian religions. Well, technically, Christianity originated in Asia, as Judea (Israel and Palestine) is part of West Asia. But I mean, South and East Asia for the Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist religions.

MAGA Makes Racist Attacks Against JD Vance's Wife

"Who is this guy, really?" Fuentes said on his podcast. "Do we really expect that the guy who has an Indian(*) wife and named their kid Vivek is going to support white identity?"

Vincent James Foxx, who was present at the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, wrote on X: "JD Vance gets tapped as VP and immediately there's a Hindu(**) prayer at the RNC."

(*) Usha Vance is an American born to Indian immigrants
(**) Dhillon (and her prayer) is Sikh

JD Vance acknowledges white supremacist attacks against wife Usha

'acknowledges' seems an appropriate verb here. Ordinary non-Ted Cruz-type husbands might have some choice words for someone saying such gross nonsense about his wife.

“Look, I love my wife so much. I love her because she’s who she is,” he told host Megyn Kelly on her show Friday. “Obviously, she’s not a white person, and we’ve been accused, attacked by some white supremacists over that. But I just, I love Usha.”

“She’s such a good mom,” Vance added of his wife. “She’s such a brilliant lawyer, and I’m so proud of her. But yes, her experience has given me some perspective on the way in which it’s really hard for working families in this country.”

Vance has not publicly condemned the attacks, and in his comments Friday he was more critical of liberal commentators who have blasted his past comments about traditional family and gender roles, calling the criticism “disgusting.”

Well, if I was Vance, and if I truly loved my wife (am single here), I would publicly rebuke those who made the racist comments to my wife.
