OOC: ^_^!

ello, y'all! It's been forever and a day since I've been here! Well, I signed on a couple of days ago to see where the story was and realized I didn't remember much about the story...>.>

So I read all of it starting from page 1! =) Let's just say it was flippin awesome! If y'all are up for it I'm more than willing to jump back in. Give me some time to get a post together as I've got to figure out some "dead" time for my characters that will fit the plot. I'm having to pack stuff up to move to my dorm for the school year but even I need breaks from packing =) I haven't roleplayed in over a year so I feel like my "skills" will be a bit rusty. However, shall we get this party started regardless?

The female guard standing in front of the cell of the captured crusader looked through her glasses observing the chaos that reigned in building. She wore the attire of the personnel and had been hired only hours before. She'd just traveled from the northern lands so had come far to get to this government building. The rebellion and crusaders had teamed together to attain a common goal something that even she would never have dreamed of. Taking the key she had to the door she unlocked the room and slipped in unnoticed by anyone of the outside. Once in, she locked the door from within and stood facing three doctors and a handful of guards.

****

Lina had walked the streets when she felt the urge, or rather the need to leave the city. I'm not doing anything here, she reasoned. I might as well get something done. Forsaking her hotel room which was paid for for the next month, Lina left a note with the house cleaning lady so that she wouldn't be startled by Lina's extended absence and alert the police. She'd had many conversations with Mrs. Frost and the elder woman had mentioned her trips to the North Pole, and her awe at the majesty and power of nature. Heading to the train station, the ice maiden purposely forsook telling Midnight of her intentions to journey out of the country. The car was incapable of making the trip any way, and Lina know that the vehicle would attempt to deflate the truth despite the validity of it.

As much as Lina had come to identify with the ice that she had control over, she'd never thought to visit nature's natural wonder known as the Arctic. Antarctica was out of the question currently but inwardly the girl knew that a trip would be in place soon.

***

The crisp air chilled her air way, and Lina placed her mitten in front of her face. She knew she should have gotten one of those face guards but had been stubborn enough not to. She regretted being that stubborn. She'd been walking out on the ice pack for three hours now. Her body was becoming numb, and she would run at intervals despite the 60lb pack in order to keep her blood flowing.

What was I thinking?! she thought. The trip out into the arctic was unlike anything she'd expected. The sun shone, but gave off little heat other than to sting her eyes when she looked into it. Walking for two hours more, she erected a box ice house to camp in for the night. It was nothing like the igloo of the Inuits but it would suffice. The concern about bears and wolves awoke a fear in her unexpectedly. She was on their turf now and at their mercy. This was nothing like watching Discovery and declaring that one may or may not be afraid of these creatures. Silently, she hoped that her worries would subside when the morning was quickly ushered in by the passing moon. Lina laid down her sleeping bag, crawled in and quickly slipped into slumber.

The sound of scratching near by had Lina in a crouching position with knife drawn within seconds. The small fire she'd created from flint and small pieces of dry wood she'd carried had ceased to burn so the owner of the noise remained covered in darkness uninterested in her presence.

"Go away!" she screamed into the darkness hoping to startle the creature into abandoning its ventures throughout her makeshift campsite. Yet the noise continued unperturbed by Lina's action.

"How foolish, child, " came a voice in the darkness followed by a pair of green eyes reflecting in the dark off some undetermined light. "Fox got your tongue?" came the question followed by a light chuckle.
Indeed a fox had, for Lina found herself no longer able to speak despite her attempting to scream. "Come" said the voice, and Lina watching the reflecting eyes disappear in the direction of the box-gloo(>.>) door. Crawling, after the pair of eyes, Lina exited. Once she was sure she'd passed the length of the entrance Lina stood on the outside, buffeted by the charging winds. It was then that she realized she didn't have on her parka or other important clothing items.

"Leave them," said the eyes peering up from the earth below. "And follow me." Lina and the green eyes walked for 30 minutes that seemed like an eternity in the darkness and cold of the night.

"Sit," was the command, and she did as told despite her vehemence at being told what to do. Lina was beginning to shake visibly. She'd mustered to stave off the chill of the arctic by using her own ice to shield herself. As strange as it seemed she was beginning to freeze to death from her own power that was being used in excess. Lina was so wrapped in her thoughts that when she refocused on what was occurring around her she noticed that the pair of eyes had disappeared, and panic set in.

"To panic here means to perish. Only the sound of mind survive," came the voice, sounding more feminine now than it was before being indescribable. "Settle your mind. The vixen does not panic when her pups do not eat. She keeps searching knowing that the spirits of the arctic will supply her need. She toils in the darkness and day fearing neither for she is small and agile, cunning and determined. Focus on your surroundings and make light of them. Your fear is your hindrance. Speaking boldly does not bespeak a bold heart."

Lina blinked in the darkness. This being seemed to know her better than she did. The things that she couldn't accept about herself she covered with falsehoods that appeared grounded.

"Focus. Meditate. Listen. Can you find me? I am here. Here. Here." The voice kept altering its location seeming to be in one place and then another, and then all around her at once. "The darkness is not a thing to be feared, but something to find yourself in. Know that you are the center, and find the energy of the things around you. Signle them out...." Lina endured lessons similar to these throughout the night. She became tuned to the music of herself in relation to other elements of the arctic....

A smile tugged at her lips as Lina lay sleeping within her box-gloo. The passing instructions to go to her homeland were the only words left to her as her dreams passed on to other normal dreams, but the lessons she learned imprinted within her as if she'd indeed awaken.

****

"What are you doing here guard?" one of the doctor's inquired. "You have no business here."

"Sure I do," was the reply. "You see, the elephant you got there....he's my friend." Before anyone could reply or move, Lina had entombed everyone in the room, her signature move. Taking a dart from her pocket, Lina removed the protective cap, and injected enough of the reverse tranquilizer drug into the back thigh of the elephant. The reversal drug would take effect faster and bring josh back to his senses faster than the steady effect of the tranquilizers that were shot at him over a period of time.

"Come on, Josh..." Lina said, going to look at the face of the elephant to determine his progress. The doctors and guards would not be able to be entombed for much longer before their air supply would decrease and/or frostbite would set in. Ice could keep you warm for only so long before it could take on a reverse effect.

OOC: A lil' more time(tomorrow or rather later today since it's almost two) and I'll have a post for Richards etc. I didn't want to make this one terribly long...

((Yay! You're back! You have not lost any of your skills. Awesome post.

Btw, Legolas, could you reply to this?
Jo breathed a sigh of relief. Kai hadn't answered his phone. "This is Joanna. Brandon wanted me to tell Kai what was going on." She paused for a second and pondered whether or not she wanted to give the girl on the other end enough time to hand the phone off to Kai. She definately didn't want to talk to Kai. "Josh has been captured and they took him away somewhere, Adrian and Lucas were surrounded but now they're running, and Brandon and I are waiting until everything dies down a bit so we can follow the Dr. Morgan guy... and he doesn't know we're here yet. So... yeah, that's it."

Thanks.))

Chris nodded briefly and covered the speaker part of the phone. "They have josh, they're creating a distraction so they can get in and free him."

Kai gripped the table as Chris talked to him. the pain in his head was almost unbearable. Chris' voice sounded like it was lightyears away, but somehow he managed to get the information. "great, have them call us in 20 minutes." Kai forced himself to say.

Chris frowned as she watched Kai, something clearly wasn't right, but she knew better than to push it. Her hand slipped down from the mouth piece, "call us in 20 minutes with a report." Chris then slammed her phone shut and stepped towards Kai, who in turned jerked back.

"I'm fine." Kai growled, his midnight eyes flashing. Kai glanced at his computer, the cornner of his mouth flickered with a smile as he unpluged it from their system. "we need to get out of here, and I can't portal us out at the moment."

Joanna tried to hand Brandon his phone, but he motioned for her to keep it. "They told us to report in twenty minutes." She whispered. "Has Dr. Morgan gotten off the phone yet?"

Brandon shook his head and peered around the corner again. Dr. Morgan seemed to have stopped pacing and was now ranting into his phone. He and Joanna couldn't stay here forever. Somebody was bound to see them and wonder what they were doing here. If this Dr. Morgan could only hurry up...

------------------

Felicia wasn't sure what to make of Kai's strange behavior. He seemed to be in pain for some reason. She glanced at Chris with a questioning look but made no move. Kai wouldn't appreciate help, that much she knew.

(( YAY! You're back! It just wasn't the same without you :) ))

Diana stood, watching the situation in front of her. It wasn't until she moved her gaze to another of the computer screens, that she noticed something happening in Josh's cell. She approached the computer, kneeling in front of the screen. "I don't believe it."

Was that... Lina?

Were her eyes mistaking her? How did Lina know about this? How did she find them? It didn't matter. She was here, and she was helping them.

OOC: so so sorry for not having a post all those days ago! RA training is taking up a lot more of my time than I'd expected. Also, just to make sure about the current setting: it's night in China making it daylight in America...? Oh, and so good to be back. I should be up to date with posting regularly for the most part. But hopefully this school year won't result in any awkward "sorry i have to leave" moments. =)

IC:

Richard's hung up the phone with Dr. Morgan not wanting to hear any thing else he had to say. The teens had made their way to China looking for Taka and realizing that their parents(for some) had been captured. In the office of his brother's condo, he stood up behind the desk allowing his gaze to wonder out the window. His face looked peacefully thoughtful. For those who didn't know him the thought that he was a normal handsome guy would form in their minds. In the doorway to the room, Jade stood for a moment watching Richard's forlorn look. She'd come up the stairs quetly mulling over the call she'd received from her adopted parents just moments before: they'd found her real parents and Jade would have the chance to meet them once they made contact with them. She'd come up the stairs to tell Richards of the news, and that when she found them she would be going to visit them. By far, it was the most awesome present she could ever have for her 21st birthday.

Stepping farther into the room alerted Richards to her presence and he turned slowly to notice that she was there. Jade wore brown dress pants and a multi-colored shirt that complemented her. Her straight hair was tyed back neatly at the base of her neck, and her perfume filled the room with a sweet aroma. Jade locked her hands in front of her as she walked further into the room. Her brown eyes seemed to shine in the dimness of the room that was lit only by the rising sun casting its first light through the wide office window.

"Happy birthday, Jade," Richards said with the twinge of a small on the corner of his lips.

"Thanks," Jade replied, inwardly shocked that the man had even remembered considering that years past anything of importance to her remained forgotten.

"I found out today who my real parents are," she said. Pausing briefly to see if Richards would say anything she continued. "As soon as I can get in touch with them I will be going to visit them. I'm not sure how much time I will take to connect with them but it will be for a while." While Jade spoke, Richards watched her intently with his silver-like eyes which unnerved Jade whenever he looked at her. Dropping his gaze, he waved a hand dismissively. Jade involuntarily took a step back, her jaw dropping slightly at his action.

"You're a fool, Leontes," she said using his real name for the first time ever. "You're a conceited individual who cannot understand what the true value of a person means even if it stared you in the face, and for this I hope you rot somewhere....somewhere the sun doesn't shine!" Towards the end of her venting, tears began to build up in Jade's eyes as she released to the best of her ability her frustration on Richards before quickly turning to leave the office. Richards stood partly dumbfounded by Jade's outburst.

Richards gaze had returned to Jade's face by the time she'd called him a fool and said his name. He watched the anger and pain on her face as she shared with him how she felt. This anger and pain was different from what he was accustomed to for it was filled with sorrow. Sorrow that was similar to what persons experiencing a loss in the family endured. Striking the desk in anger, Richards then sank into his chair staring at the ceiling.

***

"You're a fool, Leontes," said a man dressed in his best golf clothes preparing to hit the ball for birdie. "No blood of mind would be foolish enough to think that he could just pick up some other dream apart from my own and that I would just let him go. Ha!" Taking a swing, the ball soared through the air farther down the green.

"Until you get your sense together, you're no son of mine. I really don't understand how you and your brother are so different. It probably was the ignorant woman you call a mother who implanted such ill fantasies in your mind. Your destiny is to take over as the firstborn. To pass this opportunity up...well, I'd have to erase you." With that final utterance the older man walked down the green to chase after the ball and to see if he'd infact made birdie.

Richards was left standing looking at the back of a man he'd become.

****

"How I hate you, father," Richards said out loud as he continued to stare at the ceiling. "I am better than Daegan ever will be, and I'll show you how to really run this operation. I'll show you and Daegan." As Richards rose to leave the office in the back of his mind the image of Jade and his mother flickered before they were quickly pushed aside.

***

"Dang it, Josh, wake up already," Lina said rising from her crouching position to look around the room. Spotting a closet, she jogged to it and opened the door. Nothing was inside so one by one, Lina decased the personnels and dragged them to the closet. Each one that she came to were to chilled at the moment to react violently to her in any way so the process was completed smoothly. The door was then shut and a second ice door erected. She didn't want to be responsible for killing due to neglect.

***

"Such a pretty little girl," Daegan said to the slumped body of Taka. "Shame, shame that you should suffer. Wake her up." The guard in the room moved and positioned Taka into a sitting form. Her took a vial from his pocket which he placed to the girls lips and forced her to drink. Taka would revive soon to a room where she sat tied to a chair and shrouded in darkness save the single brilliant light that shone directly above her. Chances were that her head would still be aching from further attempts at testing upon her.

Taka had been given to Daegan to work with as Richards had completed his part of the deal by obtaining the girl. Daegan had had a sudden change of plans on immediately taking the girl out of the country. Everything was transacted by word of mouth rather than electronically. Technology had the tendency to backfire Daegan had realized watching his brother.

"Wait, no-" Di began to say, but it was too late. The virus had taken over the computer she had seen Lina helping Josh on, and she could no longer see what was happening in the holding room.

With a sigh, she stood to her feet, and followed the others. God, I hope they get out okay.
