“The Portland ICE facility is currently on fire,” freelance journalist Grace Morgan reported on Twitter, accompanied by a video showing part of the building in flames.

Police and federal agents soon arrived on the scene and faced off with rioters, according to another freelance reporter.

“Police and protesters have formed a line across the road, facing off, in front of the ICE building in the South Waterfront district of Portland Oregon,” freelance journalist Chris Landis reported on Twitter.

Because if the police no longer enforce the law, we will be left to defend ourselves; which we already are, but the realization of threat is minor currently. If police stand down or even get defunded and stop doing their work, then the rates of crime are going to go up...way up. If police aren't around to deter crime, then we must be armed to fulfill such deterrents.

Video posted online showed officers in crowd-control gear emerging from the compound to scatter protesters and pull burning debris away from the building. The fire was extinguished quickly and didn’t appear to spread.

Looking at the broader picture than this singular event. Riots don't emerge from a vacuum.
