Here's a friendly reminder to us all about some of the reckoning being faced by right wing media for intentionally spreading misinformation to consumers. And it is encouraging to see these outlets and pundits suffer consequences for their lies. As Americans are still facing consequences from their lies as well.

I hearken back to when Tucker Carlson was fired from foxnews. I can still hear those rumors that he should be Donald Trump’s running mate. It still makes me chuckle.

What about all those stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop being Russian disinformation? The laptop was used as evidence in the gun trial. I haven’t seen any retractions.

I don't know much about any of that stuff. This one's about the reckoning for right wing media for their dishonesty and lies. You may have another decent idea for a different thread. That Hunter stuff doesn't really seem too interesting in the grand scheme of things. But Turley is paid well by one of those dishonest media corporations who has already faced hundreds of $millions$ in financial consequences for intentionally lying to consumers. I wouldn't treat his theories as reliable. He is smart but his scutes have been showing since Trump's first impeachment. "What about" is not invited to this particular thread though. Quick March! No, I'm simply reiterating to people how those right wing purveyors of misinformation are being held accountable for intentionally spreading lies. When divisive pundits get punished for their deceptions and taken off the air it is good for America. Our constitution doesn't grant guys like Alex Jones license to do the damage he's done to our society. I hear Mr Bannon will be quiet for a spell too when he finally serves his jail time. This is positive news for Americans who still understand unity is our strength and we are not enemies. And shouldn't we all have a right to the truth occasionally lol? Isn't that "right" being infringed upon by in these purveyors of deception?

One of the reasons for the 25th Amendment is that one President, Wilson, suffered a severe stroke paralyzing one side of his body. The problem is that Wilson, himself, did not believe he was so paralyzed and planned for a 3rd term though his wife and aides kept him sheltered. People with a similar stroke often do not believe they are paralyzed on one side at all, though they are severe, and they get angry.

Reagan in the last year or so of his term was suffering dementia and his wife and aides sheltered him, too.

I guess Hunter’s lawyers would have sought to quash the laptop solely on the basis of the chain-of-custody unless the data was corroborated via the cloud.

So basically your saying they are jailing people and otherwise silencing people who are engaging in their rights which in this country cannot be infringed upon by government entities according to the Constitution.

Defamatory speech has to do with defamation. Ex. Alex Jones has to pay the parents for Sandy Hook as he defamed their children and them by claiming it did not really happen and it was a hoax.

I would concede this type of disingenuous journalism occasionally occurs in MSM. Sorry for being harsh earlier. I had to run a kid off early on and I was too defensive.

This thread really was created for the right wing media and the cesspool of grifting that's been happening. This content is intentionally misleading across the board with some of these outfits.

I posted an interesting link earlier saying conservative digital media is disproportionately dependent on social media referrals for their traffic. And as Facebook and others began minimizing their news content, right wing media was affected the most due to their overdependence from social media traffic. It's sad that they feel they need to swindle their consumers just to make acceptable profits. But these repercussions being felt across this media grifting horde is likely a positive effect on society. With fewer divisive pundits and fewer manipulations it stands to reason fewer Americans are subjected to polarizing disinformation. I feel that we the consumers have a right to truthful news with punishment doled out to those who spread deceit intentionally.

Let me ask you a serious question. I'll be honest with you after I ask. Do you find yourself more inclined to watch the news with Biden in office than you did when Donald was in office? I can be honest with you. I used to faithfully watch the evening news, ABC or NBC usually. I haven't had cable or satellite TV for many years now. But I was fit to be tied when Trump was in office. It was fascinating yet maddening to see him get away with anything he did. I couldn't believe congress and the senate couldn't (or wouldn't) reign him in. They didn't even try. Though they both possessed the same power as the Donald, they acted subservient, and boy did he eat that up lol. But now I've been decompressing from the Trump carnival and barely paying any mind to the news. If I catch it on TV that's fine. If not it's even better! I've nearly turned the corner on this political torture I've endured the past eight or nine years. Please don't make us all live thru it again. If you can't vote for President Biden, may I suggest you forgo the voting booth altogether and take your family out for a nice dinner to remember the important things in life.

Not much different in today's media coverage. Trump is still the story everyday, everywhere. Only a few changes of consequence have occurred in Don's world since taking those documents from the white house January 20th, 2021. Mr Trump no longer is immune from prosecution and is already convicted of several felonies. And the business fraud convictions. And the $millions$ in defamation debt for Ms Carroll. And many of his cohorts in conservative media are being fired or facing criminal charges or already convicted and heading for the stripey hole by July 1st. Maybe Don can start his own podcast from Leavenworth some day. I think one of his heroes stayed there for a while. (Na na na na na na the night Chicago died. Brother what a nite the people saw, brother what a fight the people saw. Yes indeed.)

I can't figure out how that relates to my post. And it hits too close to home for me to address. My mother was diagnosed last year with dementia too and is now in assisted living in another state. I have yet to reconcile my feelings about it.
