Here's a friendly reminder to us all about some of the reckoning being faced by right wing media for intentionally spreading misinformation to consumers. And it is encouraging to see these outlets and pundits suffer consequences for their lies. As Americans are still facing consequences from their lies as well.

I hearken back to when Tucker Carlson was fired from foxnews. I can still hear those rumors that he should be Donald Trump’s running mate. It still makes me chuckle.

Yes, but I think the goal is to reduce the amount of disinformation that those people crave to slowly bring their perceptions back in line with reality. Those other outlets are now worried about accountability if they continue deliberately deceiving consumers too. Look at poor Alex Jones. It seems his reckless infowars scam will have to be sold. How he will find a buyer is beyond my comprehension haha.

Oh no. Don't give him any ideas. That's all we need is another dishonest media conglomerate like Murdoch's lol. Some people have more dollars than sense. Why was Tucker fired? I know it wasn't because he lied for years. The Fox News channel bosses knew he's been lying. And they didn't care. As for punishing networks for lying. They should be punished. But I doubt most viewers believe, that they were lied to. They made me realize how quickly people stumble or false people.

- Dominion and Smartmatic lawsuits against Newsmax, One America News Network and FOXnews (Fox already lost to Dominion for millions)
- Alex Jones is selling his assets to pay damages to Sandy Hook families
- Dinest D'Sousa's film is pulled for lying about a Georgia man
- Gateway Pundit goes bankrupt due to lawsuits involving Dominion and 2 Georgia election workers).
- CFO of Epoch Times is being investigated for money laundering.
- Oh yeah - Tucker Carlson whose show on Fox News was filled with conspiracy stuff and racist stories was fired from FoxNews. Even Mitch McConnell criticized him for demonizing Ukraine.

That is a lot more than dealing with the loss of readers of printed material as folks are turning to the internet.

So basically your saying they are jailing people and otherwise silencing people who are engaging in their rights which in this country cannot be infringed upon by government entities according to the Constitution.

No, I'm simply reiterating to people how those right wing purveyors of misinformation are being held accountable for intentionally spreading lies. When divisive pundits get punished for their deceptions and taken off the air it is good for America. Our constitution doesn't grant guys like Alex Jones license to do the damage he's done to our society. I hear Mr Bannon will be quiet for a spell too when he finally serves his jail time. This is positive news for Americans who still understand unity is our strength and we are not enemies. And shouldn't we all have a right to the truth occasionally lol? Isn't that "right" being infringed upon by in these purveyors of deception?

It’s fun to think that these guys are all finally getting their comeuppance, hut the reality is that these are nothing more than temporary blips. These guys are all rich, will still be rich after their fines are paid, and will continue making lots of money because there’s a market for their lies. I used to frequent the gateway pundit to read the propaganda and comments. They basically are a Russian propaganda outfit from what I saw. Their wiki page "type of site" description is literally "fake news" . Those folks are not playing with the full deck over there.

idk... Amongst the people making money off this, I have a hard time separating out the TrueBelievers from the opportunistic cynics. I think most of them know what they're doing.

Yeah, I was speaking more about their regular patrons than Hoft and his gang. I think he was dubbed the dumbest man on the internet though lol. Anyone who values money over peace and unity in our country is still not playing with a full deck in my estimation.

It seems Facebook began tightening up their algorithms in 2018 to de-emphasize news content. And with conservative digital media so disproportionately dependent on social media for referral traffic, these media have suffered the most financially. Maybe that is some of their motivation to continue to gaslight and lie to consumers. Lost revenue leads to stress and stress often leads to irrational behavior.

What about all those stories about Hunter Biden’s laptop being Russian disinformation? The laptop was used as evidence in the gun trial. I haven’t seen any retractions.
