Richard Wayne Mullins (October 21, 1955 – September 19, 1997) was an American CCM singer and songwriter born in Richmond, Indiana. He was killed in a jeep accident in September 1997

I didn't know this.

He wasn't wearing his seat belt, and got thrown from the vehicle. The other man in the jeep suffered injuries, but recovered from them.

Lesson: Always buckle up!

I love his music. I have all of his CDs. My favorite Rich Mullins song is "Creed."

I love his songs where he plays the hammered dulcimer! I also love My Deliverer even though it wasn't completed by him. It was played at funeral in my church and it has hit me hard ever since.

Thanks, Dave. "Calling Out Your Name" (COYN) is so psalm-like. That and "Color Green" just blew me away the first time I heard them. Very unique that stations would give COYN so much air time, given its long, opening instrumentals. That just speaks to the anointing in those hands.

There have only been a handful of artists who I would describe as prophetic. Keith Green is one. Rich Mullins is definitely one.

I am continually amazed by how much God still speaks through his music.

Does anyone still listen to Rich Mullins?

I was recently blessed by a line in one of his songs...

"I'd rather fight you for something I don't really want than take what you give that I need..."

I do.

He is greatly missed.

Actually, I think that one was written by "Beaker."

This one was a joint effort with "Beaker" writing the chorus and Mullins writing the verses:

I kind of wonder what ever happened to Beaker? If those choruses are any indication, he was a fine composer of worship tunes.
