  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Five years after publicly deconstructingtheir faith, YouTube stars Rhett and Link have opened up about their religious views and revealed they’re not scared of going to Hell, dismissing it as a “human construct” rather than a biblical one and a “mechanism” to keep people in Christianity.

During a two-hour Feb. 17 podcast titled “Link Actually Prayed” on their Ear Biscuits YouTube channel, Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, better known as Rhett & Link, gave their “annual update” on their religious views after departing from Christianity in early 2020.

“I'm in a good place, but it's like holding steady and still at arm's length,” Link said. “I like to keep it simple, you know. And I like to keep it to like, love platitudes.”

Their life, their choice. Ultimately no one can manipulate God. Although I agree, the images of hell should never be afraid to scare people. God is not a monster.

Just a couple of things...

1. I have never heard of these guys but they have 30mil followers. That makes me feel old and out of touch. But, I may not be missing much.
2. 30 million people may very well be influenced by these guys and that will make reaching those 30 million even harder. That makes me feel sad.

You can say the same about Mr. Beast who has a huge youth following, was a devout Evangelical Christian, and is now an agnostic over so-called "homophobia."

Sad, really!

We are all born unbelievers, by nature objects of wrath (Eph 2:3) and enemies of God (Ro 5:10) and remain so until the sovereign (as unaccountable as the wind, Jn 3:6-8) Holy Spirit rebirths us (Jn 3:3-5), which he does not do for all mankind.
