  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Your perfect Saturday would be spent.....?

ok seriously
going on a picnic with a friend, wine and cheese
then a book store, and a café
maybe cooking with friends and an evening of watching DVD's and drinking wine

I do not really have a favorite verse
I like the ones where Jesus talks kind of cryptically and sounds more.... royal?

like this from Matthew 11 (douay rheims translation, it is about as old as the King James translation but has had some of the language updated in 1899)

[38] Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying: Master we would see a sign from thee. [39] Who answering said to them: An evil and adulterous generation seeketh a sign: and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. [40] For as Jonas was in the whale' s belly three days and three nights: so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
[41] The men of Ninive shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they did penance at the preaching of Jonas. And behold a greater than Jonas here. [42] The queen of the south shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold a greater than Solomon here

Do you bake?
I used to work in a bakery, but I do not bake very often
maybe we can bake together :p

If I were to have another saint as my sig and avy, who do you suggest it would be?

you tend to like the ladies
St. Lucy is shown in iconography with her eyes on a plate
some stories say that her eyes were gouged out by her persecutors, but that part is absent from the earliest accounts of her life

if you want to have a guy saint
St. Francis Borgia is an interesting one
he was a Duke who gave up worldly power to become a priest, because he gave up royal authority and because he was very devout, in art he is shown contemplating a skull with a crown on it, neat imagery for both saints

Yes. I remember you mentioning pies. ^_^
I'm not a pro baker. Just average.

Favorite cake and why?

hmmm, a strawberry layer cake

white cake with a little rum syrup brushed over the different layers of cake to keep it moist (do not worry, we will cook out the alcohol)
then a thin layer of strawberry jam and a layer of strawberry mouse (whipped cream with pureed strawberries mixed in) whipped cream icing on top with fresh strawberries decorating the top of the cake

it is my favorite because it is what i am hungry for right now!!! :p
ask me latter and i might have a different favorite cake :p

Thanks. I'll probably use St. Lucy. :)
