I'm socially liberal because I believe in having minimum government not a nanny state. Also because people should be free to make their own life choices.
People should have the opportunities that allow them to make their own life choices. Mass firings of 290,000,000, many concentrated in northern Virginia and Maryland, will mean mass layoffs and business closures in those areas. The numbers of shoppers, diners, travelers, etc. will decrease drastically. Home prices will collapse, as they do when lots of people sell at the same time.

But hey, maybe some libertarians will make the life choice of buying these houses at depressed levels and renting them at high prices to people who can't afford to buy homes.

Can you point to any of his speeches, or testimonies, or interviews where he said so?

RFK Jr thinks government should send ‘addicts’ to tech-free ‘wellness farms’ and grow organic food

The anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist took part in a live recording of the Latino Capitalist podcast during a virtual “Latino Town Hall” last week when he shared his idea for new addiction treatment programs for “addicts” using opiates, but also antidepressants, and ADHD medication.

“I’m going to create these wellness farms where they can go to get off of illegal drugs, off of opiates, but also illegal drugs, other psychiatric drugs, if they want to, to get off of SSRIs, to get off of benzos, to get off of Adderall, and to spend time as much time as they need, three or four years if they need it, to learn to get reparented, to reconnect with communities,” Kennedy said during the event.

I'm aware.

I just think it's odd for non-medical people to make medical statements, is all.
Isn’t the thread about the lawyer who now runs the Us Department of Health and Human Services?
It’s turtles, all the way down!

Why would someone be against SSRI's? Are they a psychiatrist?

SMH
He blames them for his wife suicide....and not the 37 times he cheated on her and wrote about it in a diary she discovered. Her death is not rocket science and he's not taking responsibility for it.

And strangely, this approach to a problem seems a bit too common for some this guy; investigate the wrong issue.

He also believes they to tribute to school shootings. False.

he also claims they are more addictive than heroin. False

See. Dude doesn't understand cause and effect. He's putting thr blame on medications instead of on the peoblem the medications are trying to help with.

Hard to feel hopeful about the next 4 years od this guy if his strange strategy is already laid bear.

Here's an article with some useful links that clarify rfk doesn't know what he's talking about.

Well, he does know about heroin. My wife won't be happy, but elections have consequences.

The part that raised my eyebrow was:

(a) study the scope of the childhood chronic disease crisis and any potential contributing causes, including the American diet, absorption of toxic material, medical treatments, lifestyle, environmental factors, Government policies, food production techniques, electromagnetic radiation, and corporate influence or cronyism;

I mean, yes, we should protect kids from sunburn, but I doubt that's what these yahoos are thinking.
Why isn't every American rising if this is true? Some of these were labeled conspiracy theories back in the day lol.

"corporate influence or cronyism"

This has been the cause because you can tie corporations to the problems. Government? is dependent on the 1% for tax revenue.

There have been no assessments before now?
Of course there have been, as you well know, but now we getting another, apparently. Are you saying that what should be done ought to be determined before this "assessment"? If that is the case, then the assessment is a waste of resources to justify a predetermined outcome; if not, then the determination of what to do should be based on the results of the assessment. Do you disagree?

what? When? Which of those were conspiracies?

And I repeat not including poverty in there is telling and I worry that Republicans may try to decouple poverty from a lot of its well established effects.

You described this as conservative:

"Govt should be staying out of the medical space. Let the medical experts decide which drugs are best for people".

Conservatives do the opposite

Easy peasy, two come to mind EMF and food but the study of childhood disease should be a worry for all of us. I've watched the healthcare decline in the past 30 years. Nothing about this should be political for those who care.

Back to the topic.

I disagree with RFK at least my experience with Zoloft. For me with my two mental diseases medicine helped for one and I had to fight addiction. They are two different issues. I like the idea of wellness farms because those people have to be taken out of that environment.

No. I guess you're thinking of abortion and gender affirming care but conservatives generally want small government and less interference
