  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Revelation 13

I agree with most of what Ephod says in this thread.

The mark of the beast is the reverse to the SEAL of God, which is the Holy Spirit (2 Cor. 1:22; Eph. 1:13; Eph. 4:30).

Revelation 14:9-11 describes the punishment for those who receive the mark of the beast - eternal torment with no rest, day or night.

Revelation 14:12 says: "Here is the paitience and the faith of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus."

Thus, you cannot have the mark of the beast and at the same time keep God's commandments and have faith in Christ.  These are contrary to one another.

In the Old Testament, God told the Jews to bind the Law of Moses "as a sign on your hand and as frontlets between your eyes" (Exodus 13:16). Orthodox Jews and Rabbis in Israel, to this day, when they pray, wear a little black box with a rolled up piece of paper with the 10 commandments in it between their eyes, and they wrap a black cord around their right hand a certain number of times for certain laws of Moses.

What John saw here was the whole entire world, besides the saints, taking up a NEW kind of law - a law dedicated to the worship and service of Satan.  Worship for the forehead and service for the right hand.

As far as "buying and selling", I do not believe this refers to individual transactions, say, at a grocery store or a laundr-o-mat.  If this were the case, then how would it be determined when there are machines all over the place where you can simply put in a dollar and get out a coke.  Is that not an example of buying something?

James 4:13 says, "Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit..."

In the days of the early church, when John wrote the book of Revelation, people made their living and money from "buying and selling" things.  Lydia, in Acts, for example, was a "seller of purple [cloth]."  They were merchants who made their living by buying and selling - it was their WORK.

I believe Satan will infiltrate the workplace of anywhere in the world to the extent that if you go and get a job, to sell your time to them for money, that they will make you blaspheme God and His Spirit and thus worship the devil and be brought into spiritual bondage to the "beast," which I believe is a demon, not a man.  Just my opinion.

If you read Revelation 13 closely, you will see that God provides a way for you to know whether or not you have received the mark of the beast or not.  He says in verse 10, "He who lead into captivity shall go into captivity, and he who kills with the sword must be killed with the the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints."

I believe that the mark is basically learning ways to help the devil capture souls and then trying to capture souls and bring them into captivity.  Those who learn these ways and set them before themselves constantly (as much as a Jew would put before him the Law of Moses - God's commands and Jesus' faith) and lead others into worship and slavery to the beast, will suffer eternal torment and have their part in the lake of fire which burns forever with fire and brimstone.

Does anyone else agree?

I tend to agree with you pete , I recently asked a question in the messianic forum about what name or letter is written on the Tefillin and the reply was "SHIN" . I can't quite remember but i think it was the name of God .

Anyway doesn't the book of Daniel say something about : "He ( Antichrist ) shall change times and laws . I'm just wondering

A link to see "tefillin" for those interested .

I see the what you are saying, but I don't believe there is some Jewish conspiracy that makes praying with one of those things on or wearing a rabbinical outfit wrong.

I think it can be wrong depending upon WHO you are praying to and what you know you are doing according to your conscience.  I'm sure that praying with a piece of paper rolled up in a box on your forehead is not wrong, as long as you are not praying to the devil or doing it with evil intent.  This is clear because this is what God TOLD the people of the Old Covenant to do.  We do not live under that covenant anymore, and it is not really necessary.

I'm sure of one thing: each person will be judged according to their conscience and intentions in life.

I have my own ideas that would probably not be popular on here about the "little horn" or "Anti-Christ" that intends to change times and law.  I won't bother to post them because I don't feel like involving myself in a dissension.

God bless!
