  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Rather lame excuses there, Cadet.
It is quite clear that the scientific community CHOOSES naturalism and DISMISSES God, and not at all because of the evidence.
Find some scientific evidence for God, and the scientific community will "accept" God just fine. Don't get mad at science for asking for evidence you can't provide.

Find some scientific evidence for God,
For the n-th time, it's about history, the history of the universe and life coming into existence.
and the scientific community will "accept" God just fine.
No, they admit they will not.
Are you sure you read the OP?

You didn;t read the quotes then, otherwise you wouldn't say what you just said.

Your quotes have no value:

Deuteronomy 32 39 "there is no God"

Your quotes have no value:
They are not my quotes, it says in small font whose quotes they are.
Deuteronomy 32 39 "there is no God"
Your acting as if they don't mean what they say is not even convincing to yourself.

It's pathetic how you folks take what your prophets have said out on me.

..but i guess you have no choice..

Please, there is a commandment against doing what you are currently doing. You posted those out of context quotes, so you are responsible for them.
It's pathetic how you folks take what your prophets have said out on me.

But those quotes are worthless since they are out of context. Once again, from the book of 1 Kings:

"there is no God"

That is twice now that the Bible has said there is no God. According to your standards it must be correct.

..but i guess you have no choice..

Is that all you have? I have at least ten more, all of then much more damaging to your case than your out of context quotes are to reality.

because there's no evidence of God. Science deals in evidence. If you want science to talk about God, find some evidence first. Then we (science literate types) will talk about him in a scientific context all you like

I read enough of them to see the thread title was misleading, and there was plenty of out of context quote mining.

As i said, the quotes are genuine.
If you have a problem with the content, take it up with them.

That seems about right:

This "quantum cosmology" provides a loophole for the universe to, so to speak, spring into existence from nothing, without violating any laws of physics. (Paul Davies)

The universe can spontaneously create itself out of nothing.
(Steven Hawking)

Biology is the study of complicated things that give the appearance of having been designed for a purpose.
(R Dawkins, "the Blind Watchmaker") (my emphasis)

Biologists must constantly keep in mind that what they see was not designed but rather evolved.
(Francis Crick "what mad pursuit")

First two: spontaneous existence is quite thinkable.
Second two: *apparent* design does not does not have to mean "designed" at all.

Which is as much an argument against democracy as anything.
(But we're rather stuck with that as everything else seems worse still.)
Ar you suggesting truth is decided up on by the most popular opinion??

Nope, it violates the laws of matter and energy.
The universe can spontaneously create itself out of nothing.
(Steven Hawking)
In order create itself, it would have to exist prior to its existence.
Biology is the study of complicated things that give the appearance of having been designed for a purpose.
(R Dawkins, "the Blind Watchmaker") (my emphasis)
Exactly.
We study biology and everything points to a designer with purposes in mind.
But naturalists can't have that.
They admit this in the OP
Biologists must constantly keep in mind that what they see was not designed but rather evolved.
(Francis Crick "what mad pursuit")
Without a valid reason.
First two: spontaneous existence is quite thinkable.
Not when you actually think.
Second two: *apparent* design does not does not have to mean "designed" at all.
Even less it means "not designed".
But we can't prove both empirically because we study history and origins.
Appearance is based on the evidence.

You say that because you believe in evolution.
and now you're hurt because your prophets admit to their dishonesty.

This is just twice in the thread, aside from the actual OP, where you have lied, Hieronymous.
Since you like quotes so much, here's one for you, from Proverbs 6:16-19:
"There are six things that the LORD strongly dislikes, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers."

So you think they meant something else?
Not very likely, is it?

You have been shown that you have copied and pasted quote-mined quotes, meaning that these are quotes that have been altered, having bits taken out of it, to change the meaning of their quote.
It is incredibly likely, if not actual fact, that these people do mean something else entirely.
Ergo, you are engaging in lying. You are lying.

Then you should understand that we're not talking about philosophical naturalism when we talk about science.
How many times do i have to explain to you lot that the scientific method does not apply to the questions about the origins?
And no, that doesn't imply you can not approach the evidence scientifically, but naturalism assumes the answer a priori and sell it as "science"

I'm starting to feel sorry for you guys.
What have i done?
O wait, what have the naturalists done to you, convincing you it is science, when it is not?
I just share it because it's a Christian Forum, and there are people here struggling with the bluff of popular science, doubting Genesis.
I'm not sure what you guys are doing here though...

That's a lie.
You are desperate.

And again, another example of you quote-mining.
To engage in spreading quote-mined quotes is to engage in spreading a lie. You may think that you are spreading the truth, but you are not. You are spreading a lie.

If anyone here's desperate, it's you.
