• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes its very hard to regain your faith in humanity when you have been taught by the bible that all people are evil. I wish I had an answer for you why we are all sh#tty, but I don't and I doubt anyone does either.

The bible teaches that mankind's standard of good, as good as that might be, is evil compared to God's standard. That is what conversion, by the power of the Holy Spirit, is all about; to (become) perfect as God is perfect.

God has allowed to us the 'knowledge of good and of evil' but leaves it up to us which to live by. Man chooses evil, all the while believing he has chosen good.

Dirty rags and such I know, but go back to the genesis story and read what god said about the tree of knowledge. (Knowing good killed them too)

But, if you have no faith in the value of humanity as a source of goodness, then why should humanity be preserved? What is the point of continuing our existence if it mostly does harm?

You first for the bottle of cyanide.

How many resolutions have their been to abolish war? and how often have they had any effect? The truth is that we are by far and away the most violent species on the planet.

Not only that, but the rich nations could easily abolish world poverty if they wanted to. They don't because their populations would not appreciate having their own standard of living greatly reduced in order to alleviate suffering elsewhere. So they salve their consciences by giving away a pittance in aid.

Not exactly, as James 4:17 reveals:

"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."

Of course it wasn't entirely their fault (Adam and Eve) as God set them up to fall in order to move his plan of redemption along.

Why would a 'Seeker' play the 'atheist'?
I'm not a seeker either dude, theres just no option for (Just a human being)

A better answer: Since I was a seeker/christian/agnostic/atheist at one point I can still play around with those mind sets, its just habitual behaviour and I really dont want the mind set of any of those things.
