  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In light of one tradition at this time of the year.. the resolutions made...

2013

Rid myself - tranforming --overcoming...etc of??

among the most popular is

- smoking
- drinking
- and other vices

mine is going to be a focus on lies
- the ones I tell
- the ones others tell me
- the ones others tell themselves
- the ones the world tells itself
- the ones that tradition keeps telling

That should keep me busy for this year...lol

I don't make resolutions based on the new year. I make daily resolutions to continue my walk. Halleluyah. It's a good day!

I don't tend to make resolutions and when I do, I make them between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. I do have a few goals for the year with one of them being to go back to school. It's sorta up to them if they let me in or not. :p Also, moving closer to the Jewish community. I'll be calling the realtor in February.

I pray that you will have the wisdom to know the difference between deliberate lies and just being wrong or mis-informed.

Yes, and I follow (and believe) the Jewish traditions regarding why we do that at those times.

You know what I'm talking about.

Also, moving closer to the Jewish community. I'll be calling the realtor in February.

Excellent news!

Interesting story. Last year a person in my church asked me for a suggestion on what to give up for Lent. I said "sin".

I think that would work for any personal resolution.
and did that person ask you for a definition of sin... or know the Anglican standard was all that is required.

The "Anglican standard" is pretty high in some places, real low in others. Anyway, I didn't have to explain it, and they didn't ask. I guess they had enough to work on at the beginner's level.
