  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I would like to ask for prayer for a colleague of mine, who I recently worked with. Her name is Denise, and she has been very mentally unwell since the middle of the year. She has been unable to work, and she is a single mum, but the kids aren't with her at this moment. Her financial matters are also becoming dire, and she does not have a supportive family, but has only a few friends. She has required hospitalisation on and off over the last few months, and she is really suffering, which has a huge impact on her children also. Can I ask for people to pray for her. I don't think Denise is a Christian, and at this stage discussing her beliefs is difficult. I just pray that the Lord who does know Denise, will provide His healing, great strength and comfort. I know He sees her great suffering, and I pray that He helps heal her poor mind, and offer healing to her children. I pray He provides the support that He knows Denise needs from people who can give it.

Amen

Lord, we know not what has set Denise back. We know not what has made her give up hope in her life, we do not know what makes her so unwell and so sad. Please lift her in your arms, please open her heart to the testimony of the christians around her. May she embrace you as her Great Redeemer. May you set her up on her legs again, heal her mind, give her new joy and energy - so that she may once again, create a family unit, have hope for the future. The future with You. Amen.

I would like to ask again for prayer for Denise and her family, it seems that in November she made it back to work on a part time basis, but having just been to her place of employment today, she has had another relapse in her mental illness. Please pray again for Denise and her daughters who also are very affected with their mum's suffering and great sadness.

Father we pray for Your Holy Spirit to enter this matter and meet all needs. We know nothing is impossible for You and we pray for Your divine intervention. As Your children we know to expect a miracle. It is in Jesus Beloved, Holy, Gentle and Mighty Name we pray.
Amen

Father in heaven,
Bless your daughter with complete healing. Minister to her heart that she may know your loving care and have joy and peace in her heart and mind. Bless her daughters and send angels to minister to them until their mom is better. Thank you. Amen.

Father God, I lift Denise up to You. You alone Lord know all the details, know Denise, and how best to work in her life. I pray that You would bring healing and relief from illness, restoration and peace. I ask that You use every circumstance to Your glory and for Denise's benefit. I pray for her children, that You would minister to them as well during this difficult time. Please surround all with Your loving presence and give them peace. Thank You Father that You are in all things and love us so very much, in Jesus' name, amen.
in Him, Leslie
