Do you honestly think Obama would drone people like you if he could "get away with it?"

Because that speculative crap is oftentimes just that.

Let's see he used the IRS to target people like me for political reasons.

He unjustly imprisonned a man in order to further the lie that Benghazi was the result of a stupid youtube video.

He yanked our troops out of Iraq cause it benefitted him politically, even though he knew it would result in what we're seeing now.

He released several leaders of the Taliban from Gitmo, so he could bring a deserter (best case) back to the US.

He's turned his back on the Iraqi Kurds whom have been an ally to the US for at least 2 decades...

Do you seriously have a better explanation for his seemingly irrational and dishonest behavior?

I'm sure President Biden would be an uplifting inspiration to our country...

I am sorry, but he is just so epically liberal. He makes my grandma uncomfortable, an she's the most liberal person I know.

The IRS targeted lots of people on both sides of the political spectrum -- why does the Right insist on spreading only half the truth?

He yanked our troops out of Iraq because that was the deal his predecessor made with the Iraqi government. Kind of hard to have foreign relations if other countries think our words won't be worth squat every 4 years.

He released several leaders of the Taliban from Gitmo, so he could bring a deserter (best case) back to the US.

Alleged deserter, smeared by the Right, but never even brought up on charges -- or has he already been found guilty in some sort of trial that we weren't invited to?

He's turned his back on the Iraqi Kurds whom have been an ally to the US for at least 2 decades...

Who hasn't? We turned our back on them when Saddam was gassing them to death almost 30 years ago.

Conservative paranoia comes to mind.

It doesn't take a drone strike to destroy someone these days. All you need is an IRS audit to effectively put someone out of business, ruin someone's reputation, or break them financially. That usually silences anyone who wants to speak up.

It's also a handy way to root out political parties disguising themselves as "non-profit" organizations.

How much are cheating on your taxes that you think an audit would destroy someone?

It seems to me that the Republican Party might be on the decline long term if it doesn't begin to appeal to more moderate voters. With the Tea Party, now officially the most hated group in the United States, associating itself with conservative views and some of the congressional activities of late only serving to sully the Republican reputation further, what are your guys' thoughts on the future? Do you think there will be a split within the party and it will become more divided, will some of its positions change, etc.

Note: I myself do not really associate with any particular political party, on many views I am rather liberal, but there are still issues on which I am rather conservative.

The right is splitting into libertarians and republicans. Its amazing how many young college students are libertarians- not liberals. There are too many rules in liberalism for most college students. They hate authority and just want to smoke marijuana. The libertarian party lets you do that. They want to be free to do whatever they want- the libertarian party lets you do that. Liberalism requires you to be too grouchy and obedient to the government. It tells you what to eat, what to buy, what to think, how to vote, what is and is not science based on popular opinion, and above all, it tells you to what to do with your money. There are essentially more rules to liberalism than conservativism. Add to that that the government is proving to be a failure in so many ways.

And yet, the college students aren't becoming conservatives -- what's up with that?

They're inclined towards Libertarianism because it stands for liberty. To the extent that they reject Liberalism/Socialism because it's too much into controlling everyone, they tend not to go towards Conservatism as the alternative because it is seen as wanting to control as well, although it's different things in our lives that Conservatives want to regulate--moral standards, what we put into our bodies and do with our bodies (abortion), and carrying a big stick in foreign affairs.

Generally speaking, conservatives want to regulate how individuals behave and liberals want to regulate how institutions behave. Young people are generally more concerned with the former.

Good on them. The less people siding with Republicans the better.

Uh...no.

The libertarian party lets you do that. They want to be free to do whatever they want- the libertarian party lets you do that.

Liberalism requires you to be too grouchy and obedient to the government.

Just like we were during the Bush years...but whatever.

It tells you what to eat,

You we suggest that people eat healthy food sometimes.

what to buy,

What?

what to think,

Which all ideologies do.

how to vote,

Ditto.

what is and is not science based on popular opinion,

I hope this isn't a smack on evolution.

and above all, it tells you to what to do with your money. There are essentially more rules to liberalism than conservativism.

You are essentially wrong. There's plenty of rules for being a religious fundy drone in the "Pro God" party.

All of your leaders are lying idiots. Toss EVERYONE of them out on their ear [gauntlet throw].

To be fair, it's hard to be angry when the Senate has an approval rating of 13% but the plebs are still so lost in rhetoric as to vote 91% of them back in. As an outsider, who could I REALLY wag a finger at?
