I wonder if you realize that you completely supported my post. You claim that the only the Tea Party "real conservatives" which supports my claim that Republicans that are either socially or fiscally conservative are being driven out of the GOP by Republicans that are both (Tea Party).

I also note that that you completely ignore the complete absence of liberal and moderate Republicans which is a relatively recent development (3-4 decades) and correlates to the GOP decline in popular support.

But I think liberal and moderate Republicans are pretty much all there are in the GOP now. If a Republican becomes conservative, he's referred to as a Tea Party member. John Boehner blocking so many conservatives in his own party is a sign of this.

That you consider Boehner to be a moderate or liberal supports what I'm saying. In the 90's, he was considered among the furthest right in the GOP (he was the Ted Cruz of the 90's). If his brand of conservationism isn't conservative enough for today's GOP it's not because he has shifted left. If anything, as Speaker, he has shifted right.

At least they were wives, rather than fellow dudes. Have you seen any instance in the bible where a guy had a harem of men?

A harem? No, but some scholars think it is implied that David in the bible had homosexual relations

I've never heard that before. What scripture do they use to support this?

America hasn't had a truly conservative movement for a very long time. The Republican Party is weak, pathetic, and doesn't really conservative anything. The sooner conservatives stop voting for a party that betrayed this country, the better.

I have never voted Republican, and I am almost certain I never will.

Then who? I've heard of people saying things like, "I voted for Obama because I didn't like McCain or Romney". So is Obama the better choice? It might feel good at the poll to vote against someone you don't like, but the person you vote for will be making you pay for it for the next 4-8 years.

Good point. That is why unless there is someone that I can get on board with, I will vote for them. But until that happens, I will probably not vote.

I take it you don't believe in voting for the lesser of two evils then? Even though you may not have liked everything about Romney in the last election, wouldn't he have been better than Obama?

I don't think he would have Both parties basically have the same ideology, but different ways of achieving it. Both parties have a view of government, society, and the world itself, that is to the left.

No, he wouldn't have.

And I know what I'm talking about. Look at my location.

-- A2SG, there's a very good reason he never tried for a second term....fool us once, shame on you and all that....

I told other Republicans that picking Romney was a really bad idea, because he was basically Obama-lite.

And he was the best the GOP could muster...

In all fairness, he did put up some decent numbers; who could've done better?

Romney said he would bomb Iran which, it turns out, did not have nukes and has turned into a stabilizing force in the middle east.

Obama has created more jobs than any president in history and corporate profits have soared to heights unheard of since 1900. Contrary to all the endless lies from the far right news media, his administration has been a great success and would have been better if Republicans had not engaged in obstructionism.

They could have mustered Ron Paul, Huntsman, or Gary Johnson.

All of them were vastly superior to the rest of the GOP pack, and especially looking back at the last 2 years, Obama.

So we didn't get Obama-lite. We got the full-on version.

None of whom could appeal to their own base.
