Back on topic, I do agree that a definition of harassment needs to be put in place, so that there is no doubt and no wiggle room.

I have no interest in fooling anyone, as I'm sure you've already noticed from my rather direct way of saying what I mean.

I agree. Harassment needs a definition. Right now in some forums there is too much latitude. A mod could get a hair up their *blink* just because they don't like someone. Then because they belong to the "officers" even the supermods support their decision. Good 'ol Boy philosophy.

Every time staff has asked for a bit more of a definition of a rule (and we've asked for several) we've been rebuffed, FYI.

If forums are causing problems PM the RT.

Probably not. What is the point? If there's a violation, the reported post will be deleted or edited. If there isn't, it'll remain.

The reportee wanted to know the results of the report he/she submitted.

LOL!!! If it was a 40 hour a week job I would expect much better benefits.

The problem is not that but some people expect instant satisfaction and that is just not reasonable. Fixing a non emergency problem might take a few days.

Then why does the reportee receive a notification by PM when the report is closed?

Is it because, like any other thread, it is the OP of the report thread?

If so, can it be coded not to do that in report threads?

IIRC, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, the closure pm for reports was in part was so people would have an assurance their reports hadn't fallen into the tarpits, never to be seen again.

Reports will be semi-private, once we get the software re-coded.

Members will still receive a PM notifying them that their post was reported.
Members will still be able to see the report graphic under their reported post.

The reported member will be allowed to read and respond in the report thread.

2. How soon ? is the reported Member allowed to read and respond in the report thread.

Members will still receive a PM notifying them that their post was reported. Members will still be able to see the report graphic under their reported post.

The reported member will be allowed to read and respond in the report thread. However, the report thread will remain private, and should not be divulged to other than the RT, in accordance with the site wide rules.

In addition, harassment of staff in report threads, pm's or in the open forums is prohibited. The first violation will result in a 1 month ban, although no points will be given. Further harassment will result in infractions being issued.

Can you guys see that? All I see under my own reported posts--relax, I assure you that I have several--is the EDIT button. I do see it under other people's posts, though.

I have a lot of stuff blocked, though, so that could be doing it.

Raven's sock here. I reported one of my sock's posts, then logged in to see how things display. I cannot see the report triangle icon in my reported post, but I can see the report icon in other peoples' posts.

Ahhh... thanks. Maybe because the triangle replaces the REPORT! button, and there isn't one on our own posts?
