  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I got the Nexus 4 just before Christmas and it is a big step up from the Galaxy Ace I was using before. But because it's pure JB its a wee bit basic in some regards. For example I much peer the messaging app on my wife's Galaxy S2.

Can anyone recommend some good apps replacements for stock apps they've installed on JB? Or ICS even?

Well, I have an S3, so my stock apps might be different to yours, but here's some of what I use:

Launcher - Touchwiz is terrible, and even the stock JB launcher isn't as great as I'd like it to be. I use NovaLauncher. Granted, this isn't perfect either, but none of them are, and NovaLauncher does the job better than any other I've tried.

Keyboard - Swiftkey wins, hands down.

Browser - Opera Mini for when I'm on 3G, Chrome Beta for everything else.

File Explorer - I don't know what JB uses, but I like ES File Explorer. It allows LAN and FTP folders as well, like Windows, and much better than most other Android file explorers.

WiFi Manager - it's just easier for me to use.

SMS - Handcent.
