Replacement Theology and its many errors

Anyone want to discuss the many errors of those with the mindset that we are spiritual Israel? I believe they are referred to as REPPY's.

No where in scripture does it say that we gentiles become Jews. Nor does it say that literal Israel becomes spiritual Israel to save God some kind of embarrassment for not having actually come thru on all His promises to them.

Replacement theology was cooked up by those who refuse to acknowledge Paul as the apostle to the Gentiles , and who think they must help Him out by making up an explanation so it doesn't look as though God reneged on His promises. Replacement theology merely, in error, transfers all those promises to the present day Church. What they neglect to think about is that with the blessings came curses and you cannot separate one from the other. If you are going to transfer the blessings given to Israel then the curses come with that.

This is a concept brought about by traditions of men, and clearly is one that sets itself in opposition to the truth revealed in Gods completed Word.

God is not dealing with a favored nation today. He is building a BODY made up of all who believe in the death , burial and resurrection of Christ for their personal salvation. Israels salvation was NATIONAL and based on the law of the prophets and their repenting of the UNBELIEF in their prophesied Messiah.

Today, no one comes thru Israel to be saved. They come to the Cross where salvation is found by ALL who BELIEVE. God isnt in the prophetic phase of history today...but He will be again after we are taken UP and away to be with our Lord in the air.

I think this thread sounds like it could be very enlightening for those of us who have never heard of this system of belief until just recently, i.e., within this last year since coming back on-line.

I really don't have much to add, but I do know that the body of Christ/"the church" is NOT spiritual Israel and Gentiles do not become spiritual Jews, when saved by God's grace through faith in Christ's finished work.

I hope this thread continues so I can learn why some do believe this so-called 'replacement theology'.

LOL...bravery has little to do with it.

When someone comes in with both barrels a blazing and tries to make it sound like they have somehow refuted an entire belief system that is more than well supported with monumental amounts of scripture, well....one cant let that just slide on by, now can one?
