Ricker, try to understand this point. SDA's don't worship the Sabbath, we worship the living God on the Sabbath, the day he blessed and sanctified on creation. The day he Commands His people to "Remember".

SotL . . . Try to understand that non-sabbatarians have a moral compass ---- it is the conviction of the Holy Spirit. We have a desire to know God and be known by God, just as sabbatarians do. Like sabbatarians, we have experienced character change through God's work of sanctification in us and we hate sin because it separates us from God.

Have you concluded that non-sabbatarians relish sin and immorality and despise the good things of God? If so, this simply isn't a fair or accurate description of the things that non-sabbatarians believe.

That is definitely more clear, thanks. Unfortunately if you don't think the Sabbath is binding in Christians, by default you are rejecting the entire moral law. Period. Rejecting the Sabbath is rejecting a Commandment of God, and it is sin. God's law does not come with a 10% discount. You can't pick and choose which Commandments you want be loyal to. You either are loyal to the law or you're not.

Should we pick only 10 of the 600+ commands that God gave to the Isrealites? Or are there principles in all of God's law that are valuable?

 Of course not. Once and again I will repeat..and this time in bold. I believe there are many sincere Christians in all denominations. Futhermore, I believe there are many people outside of the faith who live up to the light they have and will be saved.

What I don't believe is that Christians have the right to disregard any one of the Ten Commandments. The Holy Spirit is seeking to bring us all into more light and truth and into harmony with the entirety of God's immutable law. That includes the Sabbath.

Thanks for that confirmation. I am sincerely glad for it. Now, if these sincere Christians are non-sabbatarians, are they devoid of a moral compass?

Why limit this comment to only ten of the 600+ commands that God gave to Isreal?

Why ask me this question if you already know my answer? We've been down this road before.

The Ten Commandments are eternal as God himself.

Psalm 111:7-8

7The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
8They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

Conversely, the ceremonial laws and the sacrificial system laws were abolished.

This concept should be simple for us to understand.

Perhaps. If it is simple, then I must admit that I still don't understand it. Leviticus 23 confirms that there are many sabbaths that have a lasting quality, but it seems that only one of them is truly lasting in your mind.

The problem is not that Christians pick and choose 9 out of 10 commands. The reality is we should be finding valuable principles in all of the Scriptures, including all of the 600+ God-given commands to the children of Israel. We should understand and appreciate the importance of rest. We should understand and appreciate the importance of sacrifice, of being crucified with Christ. We should understand and appreciate the importance of circumcision of the heart.

I just cannot fathom why we would find that there are only ten valuable and meaningful commands in the scriptures. This is the ultimate form of picking and choosing.

I like this statement and agree with it. It doesn't leave any room for pride.
