  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've started a new photography for reps contest! Hope y'all want to participate, I loved the photographs from the last contest!

http://christianforums.com/t7103529-second-monthly-photography-for-reps-contest.html

Thanks so much -- I love the theme idea too.

I'll be reviewing my pictures and posting in the new thread.

Doing pretty good now. :)

We have to put a new roof on the house as one of our trees had a limb fall off and it put a hole in the roof. Not that the roof hasn't needed it anyway, but other things always seemed to take priority, and our money only goes so far. :sigh: I'd love to win the lottery some day (guess I gotta play to win, though. )

So we were out to the roofing supply store looking at shingles. We will likely go with blue since we have blue shutters. Make the house pop! LOL.

How's your day been?

You sound just like me Dawn. For as long as I can remember (going on 40 years I'm guessing) my dad has complained about people throwing their hard earned money away on lottery tickets. As a result, I've never bought a single ticket - because if by some fluke of the imagination I won I wouldn't be able to tell anyone for fear my dad would find out. Even if I won I can still mentally visualize him saying "I can't believe you wasted your money on a lottery ticket."

I guess my husband and I are like your dad, Edie. We don't buy lottery tickets. We view it as a tax other people get to pay.

Great! I hope it is a success. It's a fairly easy way to get reps (just submit the winning picture. :p )

I don't buy regular lottery tickets, but I do buy scratch-offs. I win enough that I can take my family out to dinner once every couple of months. LOL.

good to know I'm not the only one having 'house issues' ;)

I've gotta get a plumber and contractor out to cut up my kitchen ceiling to figure out what's going on with my plumbing for my upstairs bathroom. Gotta borrow money from the folks to do it, but the problems gotta be fixed.

It's fun, when things go wrong with our houses, huh?! But, I thank my blessings that I'm not in this forclosure fiasco. :prayer:

When it rains, it pours. We just got home from Home Depot to find our fridge on the fritz. :sigh: That's another grand that I hadn't planned on. :swoon:

Thanks, twob.

What upsets me about the fridge is that it is only a couple of years old. It should last longer than this.

Yeah, not only did my plumbing burst over the weekend, my blinds covering for the window in our shower we have to use now just fell out of the wall! It was a blessing my dd wasn't hurt while she was taking a shower.....of course, her playing with the blinds didn't help much! ^_^

Wonder if its still covered under warranty? May be worth checking.

Oh yeah, btw, Hello everybody! :)

Heya...hope your day is blessed! Yeah, I was gonna mention the warranty too, if it's only a few years old.
:prayer: for your situation!
