  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Oh, no! How sad. Will keep them all in my prayers as they prepare for the next steps of life without him. :prayer:

 Good morning everyone. I read on Site Supporters that FlatpickingJD's uncle passed away last night. for him and for his family.

OHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

oh my gosh - and here I thought his diagnosis was sounding so promising!. I feel terrible.

Poor JD.
:groupray:

It is isn't Dawn. I was shocked to see that this morning.
I feel so bad for them.

I had gotten the impression that things were looking up too - how sad for JD's family

adding my prayers to those of others here

How are you Rosey?

I am doing okay. Had a really rough day at work, really glad to be home.

Good Morning Reppers!

Taking my daughter to the dr this morning, she just can't seem to get over this cold. She was up and down all night with a terrible earache (she's 14.5 yrs) and we will be flying on Sunday so I don't want to let it go any longer.

I have a few reps to distribute before I go, the rest aren't available till after dinner.

CC&E

Praying that your daughter gets over her earache before the flight. Don't forget chewing gum, it helps with the ear pressure.

Good morning/afternoon everyone.

My uncle did pass away last night. He rallied over the weekend, but then Sunday night/Monday morning he contracted aspiration pneumonia (you can look it up; basically, fluid started filling his lungs).

My mother, her sister, and my uncle (mother's brother in law) grew up together, and for all intents and purposes knew each other their whole lives. My aunt and uncle would have celebrated 40 years married this year.

Thank you all for you kind words, thoughts, and prayers for me and my family, particularly for my aunt and her children. I sincerely appreciate it.

Welcome 4tune8, glad to see you here again and hope you are blessed by your time here as I have been. :)

The short synopsis of what happened is that he went to the ER unconscious, and presented with some other serious symptoms. Later that night, his kidneys started to fail. He rallied after the docs adjusted his meds. I don't know that he regained consciousness, but according to my mother via my aunt, he was trying to open his eyes and seemed to be doing better.

Then Sunday night or yesterday morning (the days run together) we got a phone call saying he had aspiration pneumonia. My mother, herself an RN of 50 some years, said once she heard that she was waiting for the inevitable call . . and then it came. Even though with the last diagnosis the outcome was expected, we weren't ready.

Once again, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for my uncle and his family. It's time to start celebrating life again and move ahead as best we can.

Flat, anytime something like this happens, it can be a shock. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and finally acceptance are stages of grief identified by Kubler-Ross. I've found this model helpful in realizing how deep the shock can be, and also understanding that it just takes time to move through grief.

Yes, life goes on, but it is okay to grieve, and to share your grief. My heart goes out to you, your family and your uncle's family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

(((HUGS)))

I just realized today that I have a bad case of side-seat driving...

I got it from my teen.

And no doubt a few other things as well. :p

Yeah, well, that's what happens when you teach your teen to drive...and the driving lessons continue for more than six months, because here in Texas we have a graduated license system.

My fifteen-year old may be ready to learn this summer. There is no hope for me... I am going to be a confirmed side-seat driver... :o

I delayed my daughter's driving for as long as I could. I guess we should start praying now for you to have an increased dose of patience. ;)

 Glad to see the update from JD -- still praying, Brother. Just checking in for a few minutes. Had a REALLLLLLY LONG day. Had to put my SUV in the shop, take my dog to the vet, drop my tax stuff off at the accountant's and  can't remember the rest. :swoon: FYI, my little BB has been having some digestive issues, so off to the vet she went. Everything checked out okay, so I'm relieved. She had lyme disease last year and I was concerned that maybe the meds didn't get rid of it, but she's okay.

Today was a fairly quiet day for us. I guess we were all off in different directions taking care of what needed to be taken care of. But I hope everyone had a good day!

I just wanted to report that I bowled a new high series tonight (glad to get rid of that 666 series. *phew* ) My games were 214 - 268 - 206 for a total of 688.

Well, some reps opened up while I was gone, so I'm off to spread them out! :)
