CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ya, I need to announce it (I hate doing that - I feel like a salesperson pushing a kurby) ROFLOLI'm excited about it too.Seems to be really moving along. I've gotten more reps from there lately than on the open board.
Got some challenging situations that come along
but over all it's going pretty good.
Maybe just add the link to each of your posts. Have it ready to copy and paste from a notepad so you don't have to keep typing it out. Just a thought.

Good morning everybody!!still trying to wake up over here on my 2nd cup of coffee.
Valentine how is your son doing?? I was praying for him yesterday.
Grabbing some coffee & quick breakfast before hopping in the shower to get ready for a busy morning. We had several loooong convos with our son yesterday and Saturday. He'll have some more tests today and will have surgery on Wednesday (depending on the tests). He sounds great, has a great attitude, wishes (of course) this hadn't happened (his neck bones were broken in a training exercise). However, we have placed him in God's hands. You are so wonderful to think of him in your prayers.

BTW -- We are also unbelievably thankful to the Lord that he wasn't paralyzed or killed. The possibilities are endless and it is a miracle that his only problem is neck pain and pain in his arms/torso. We are humbled and thank God for protecting him.

Good morning Edie.
I have the WORST time with the time difference. If my memory serves (my brain is in 
overload) , he is 11 hours AHEAD of our time. He's sending us phone numbers for his commanding officer and his adorable little girlfriend (she came to visit us last year and we just ADORE her). We also bought an international calling plan. He thinks it is best for us to wait until after the surgery to see if he wants us to come over. He's so funny. He said he'd rather we come after he's healed up some so he can show us around 
. What a kid!!! He and his dad talked politics and world peace for about 2 hours -- I think he's trying to keep his mind off things. I had to just get off the line since I'm not good at political debate.

I'd of fallen apart and cried for my mommy & daddy to come hold my hand. For sure.

Valentine, I believe that you are right--the Lord in His gracious mercy protected your son. I also believe He will continue to protect him--hasn't He already?

Last summer my daughter, her husband and three precious children ages 4, 2 and 3 months were in a terrible auto accident. They were in a little Ford Focus and were broadsided by a large SUV going 70 mph. They should have been killed. The only one badly hurt was my daughter, her pelvis was broken in three places, she had a liver laceration and broken ribs. They were worried about brain injury as well. I remember pacing the hospital floors as she went in for an MRI and as they continued tests and treatment, reciting the Psalms I knew, praying, praising and telling the Lord that whatever happened I was going to trust Him and worship Him. I found myself fighting fear--and then firmly putting my faith in God again, saying I chose to trust Him.
It seemed like my daughter was pulling through when the MRI came out clean and she got out of the hospital a few days later. Then she had a terrible reaction to the meds she was on, and once again I was walking hospital floors, praying, praising, trusting, rebuking the fear that God does NOT give us, 2 Tim. 1:7. A miracle happened. She pulled out of that reaction and was able to recognize us and talk to us again...
It's been a long recovery process, but she is getting better. Every time I see her, she looks better.
I guess I'm telling you this to say, God is enough. You can trust Him. When things are looking bad, fix your eyes on Him and trust Him and praise Him anyway.
