Its GQ...it's heavy on liberal bias. She resigned. You're wrong.

'It was long past time for her to go': Dems welcome Kirstjen Nielsen's departure as DHS secretary

Well if you want to see things...you'll need to do some looking.

Humanitarian Crisis At The Southern Border Builds, Border Patrol Says
Apparently you are unaware of the protocol of Cabinet members: one of the first things each one does is to provide the Chief-of-Staff an unsigned and undated “Letter of Resignation”.
Should the POTUS decide that the person needs to “move on”, this letter is brought out and is expected to be signed.

One cannot opt out, usually.

Wrong about what, she obviously wasn't extreme enough for the President:

“It is deeply alarming that the Trump Administration official who put children in cages is reportedly resigning because she is not extreme enough for the White House’s liking,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a statement. “The President’s dangerous and cruel anti-immigrant policies have only worsened the humanitarian suffering at the border and inflicted vast suffering on the families who have been torn apart.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer echoed Pelosi: “When even the most radical voices in the administration aren’t radical enough for President Trump, you know he’s completely lost touch with the American people,” the New York senator said in a statement. (USA Today)

The Speaker of the House didn't like the fact that she put children in cages, and the Minority Leader simply expressed the opinion she wasn't radical enough for the President.

Do those people speak for Trump and Neilson now?

The characterization of her in the media is ridiculous. She's guilty of being complicit in Trump's agenda....and somehow not complicit enough in Trump's agenda. It's nonsense.

I'm not finding anything I didn't already know, the spike in illegal boarder crossings is due to a loophole in the law, Kirstjen Nielsen warned the Congress needs to fix. Most of them are simply turning themselves in and the way I get it, about half of them never go to court. They are taken to a transportation center, dropped off and take off like nothing ever happened. This is how the Trump administration is going to fix illegal immigration? What's more the humanitarian crises is in the countries they are fleeing, that's why so many asylum seekers are entering illegally.

Oh well...allow me to explain then....

This is a system that is ultimately responsible for the safety and care of people in it's custody. Whenever a system like that says "our resources are stretched too thin" or "we're at the breaking point" or anything like that...it's a serious problem. Imagine a hospital saying these things or a place that feeds the hungry. If they said these things...you'd expect people to starve, you'd expect them to die.

So as the border patrol needs more and more of its agents to care for illegals in their custody...they'll have leas and less agents to apprehend people.

It's inevitable that something bad will happen...because from the sound of it, these people expect to be caught. What's going to happen when no one is there to catch them? Will they wander the streets of border towns begging for food and money? Turn to crime? Possibly. I'd be more worried for those out in the desert who end up dying of heat exhaustion in the sun. Will the detention centers become so crowded that people start victimizing each other? Will one particularly bad illness wash over the very young and old?

I can't say what the tragedy will look like...but it's coming. Remember those kids dying back in December? Same thing really. We didn't fix the problem...we slapped a band aid on it.

Just put 300,000 Marines armed with machine guns and flame throwers on the border and there will be no tragedy when the hordes see we mean business to keep America for the Americans.

Let's hope that we figure out a solution before it comes to that.

Yeah...I'll freely admit I've never heard this. It sounds ridiculous. Where did you hear it?

No, it's vintage Trump. She wasn't going to separate families anymore and had reservations about closing the boarder. She was explicit in her testimony that in order to do this right it takes an act of Congress. Trump not having patience for the legislative process just had her resign.

That's not what's happening. Smugglers are telling people if you get to America they will drop you off at a bus station and you can take your chances from there. Hispanics know how to work, so they are laid up ten to fifteen deep, usually with one car, and find whatever work they can. I'm not guessing here, it was common in LA when I was there back in the 90s. They do wander the streets, I mean they were wall to wall. I see Venice beach as it's portrayed on TV and in movies and all I remember is wall to wall Hispanics.

I don't disagree as to the nature of the problem, Trump isn't going to get that wall built and he knows his political future depends on it. I'm with you on the media, it's blood for inches getting the truth out of them. It's all emotionally driven and Trump knows how to push people's buttons, he is custom made for TV news. But if you bother to listen to the people who know what they are talking about, especially in some of these hearings, you get everything you need to know.

There is a fatal flaw in our laws, making the flow of illegals go from a trickle to a stream, threatening to become a flood. I'm not entirely sure that's an accident, one thing I'm sure of, this problem is getting worse and I blame Trump for a lot of it.

Rep. Omar Says "Something"...

Rep. Omar is 1 of 435 members of the House, but conservatives are so desperate for someone to demonize that they hang on her every word!

Treads like this reveal far more about he mind-sets of her critics, than their intended target!

I had to stop watching TV news, hearing the same thing over and over was getting exhausting. It's turned into Trump TV, there just has to be something else going on in the world.

I like how the fact that apart from the Senate, she's at the highest level of legislative power in the nation....yet her beliefs are no big deal because there's 400 more people with as much legislative power as her.

I mean what's the worst that could happen? She might actually try to affect the laws or policies of our nation?

Treads like this reveal far more about he mind-sets of her critics, than their intended target!

Yeah? What does it reveal?

I understand that some people think this is why she left, but it's a theory that's light on evidence.

I'm sorry...."that's not what's happening"?

My sources are what I've read various members of the border patrol saying, what my friends in the border patrol have told me, and all the common signs of a disaster waiting to happen. They've added customs agents to help, they've added military personnel, and it doesn't seem like enough.

They may be getting dropped off at a bus station, but they are still considered arrested, are still processed, and still taken to the hospital for medical treatment if need be. These things take time and have overwhelmed the system.

But if you bother to listen to the people who know what they are talking about, especially in some of these hearings, you get everything you need to know.

What people are you referring to?

There is a fatal flaw in our laws, making the flow of illegals go from a trickle to a stream, threatening to become a flood. I'm not entirely sure that's an accident, one thing I'm sure of, this problem is getting worse and I blame Trump for a lot of it.

Really? Even though he created none of those laws?

Nothing she said was wrong or controversial. The outrage against her is performative posturing.

I stand by her 100%.
Ringo

Of course -- but the GOP needs to smear her somehow, otherwise they'll be forced to deal with actual issues...

She loves it so "secretly" that she's co-sponsoring renewing the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund -- perhaps the reason the GOP refuses to sign to it is because they see through her clever ruse?
She just earing browny points.

..by helping those injured, and the families of those killed, as a result of 9/11.

Good thing the Right is far too clever to fall for such... trickery.

I see....

She's supporting a bill that's already died in Congress multiple times so she definitely didn't minimize the deaths caused by Muslim terrorists on 9-11.

Makes perfect sense lol.

Are you suggesting that she's hiding her hatred of 9/11 survivors by sponsoring legislation to help them?

How fiendishly clever! I suppose next you'll tell me that the GOP has been hiding its hatred of the 1% for decades. .

Thanks to the GOP. Help these people, and they can no longer be exploited. And then what good are they?

so she definitely didn't minimize the deaths caused by Muslim terrorists on 9-11.

About as much sense as "hug a flag, you're a patriot. Try to push for legislation to help Americans affected by terrorism, and you're a stealth enemy of America."
