Peace in Christ.

Even though they (those who follow after Judas their “guide”) come to take the life of Jesus from appearing in their congregations’ mortal flesh (because of ignorance of the truth of the gospel), we must not attack them with the “sword” of our tongues.

We must not make a personal attack by naming their names ( "Malchus") of those who come forth to take away the keeping of His daily sacrifice out of the lives of those that they are deceiving and leading astray from the way that leads to His manifest life.

Some of them will hear and believe (the “right ear”) in the Word of Truth and be saved.

Joh 18:10-11 KJV
(10) Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.

(11) Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

Even if we understand all mysteries and all knowledge (of the Scriptures) and do not have love, then they will not listen to us. We will only be a “sounding brass” or a “tinkling cymbal”….making sounds but having no meaning to their hearing ears if we do not show love.

If we personally attack them (not showing love towards them), they will not hear the Word of Truth….their “right ear” is cut off so-to-speak because of our attack upon them.

1Co 13:1-2 KJV
(1) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

(2) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

Even though they are persecuting the church, remember how the great grace and mercy of God was shown to Saul/Paul who once also did so (in IGNORANCE).

1Co 15:9-10 KJV
(9) For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

(10) But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners….even those who are actively in IGNORANCE of the truth and are currently persecuting the church. The grace of our Lord is exceedingly abundant....even to those who are blasphemers, persecutors and injurious to the church. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners....even the chief of them.

1Ti 1:12-14 KJV
(12) And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
(13) Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

(14) And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Saul/Paul is the “pattern” of those who are doing so as he obtained mercy.

1Ti 1:15-16 KJV
(15) This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

(16) Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

He calls those who are preaching for hire…for “gifts” (the meaning of “Zebedee”). They are to IMMEDIATELY leave that “ship” with the rest of the “hired servants” who are still preaching for a paycheck.

Mar 1:19-20 KJV
(19) And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

(20) And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

We must immediately stop “preaching ourselves”. We must leave off those “nets”…..renouncing the hidden things of dishonesty…the handling of the Word of God deceitfully in order to get our earthly needs met.

2Co 4:1-5 KJV
(1) Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
(2) But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
(3) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
(4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

(5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

We must “straightaway” forsake our “nets”….the preaching in order to get our earthly things…the things of the “sea” of Galilee….the things that the nations all seek after: what to eat, what to drink, what to wear. If we forsake these things and follow Him, then we can be true fishers of men. Seek first the kingdom/government of God and all of these other earthly things shall be added unto you.

Mar 1:16-18 KJV
(16) Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
(17) And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

(18) And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

Some preach for gifts while others who rule their churches make it mandatory to give. They sit at the "receipt of custom."

We must “arise” and follow Him….ceasing from being a “tax farmer” in the churches of men who are busy making it mandatory to “give, give” for their congregations that they sit/ rule over.

They make it mandatory with their “handwriting of ordinances” to give (such as “tithing.”) Matthew did not hesitate when he heard the call to follow Him.

Mat 9:9 KJV
(9) And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

The original apostles had the “power” to get paid from those they preached to…but they did forgo that right and now it is binding upon us to follow after their example to work with our own hands to support our own earthly necessities.

They did “bind on earth” this thing so now it is binding upon us in “heaven”…who have our citizenship in Heaven now in this earth. They made a command decision for the rest of us to follow.

Mat 16:19 KJV
(19) And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

They have commanded us not to keep company with those who walk disorderly and not after the “tradition”…the transmission…which we have received from the apostles who did bind this upon us. That transmission….that commandment…is to work with our own hands to support our own earthly necessities.

2Th 3:6-15 KJV
(6) Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

(7) For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;

They were not like Judas who took of the “sop” but instead worked with labor and travail night and day to support themselves. They did not eat any man’s bread for nothing.

(8) Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

They are now the example unto us to follow them in this.

(9) Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
(10) For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Those who are preaching for hire…for a paycheck…are not “working at all” because they do not understand the truth of the gospel. They are not preaching it with any kind of truth….just “crumbs” of the truth.

(11) For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

The original apostles have commanded (binding it on earth) and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ that they with quietness (not with vocal preaching) work and eat their own bread.

“Command” = Greek: “paraggellō” which means “to transmit a message.”

(12) Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
(13) But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

If they hear and do not obey this word by this letter, we are to note them and have no company with them….yet, do not treat them as an enemy but admonish them as brothers.

(14) And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
(15) Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

Paul showed us “all things”. He showed us how to truly feed the church of God….working with our own hands (as he did) to minister unto our own earthly necessities.

Act 20:27-35 KJV
(27) For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
(28) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
(29) For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
(30) Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
(31) Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
(32) And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

(33) I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.

We must be “with him” on this. The weak consciences of the outside world will then see this and not have an opportunity to speak evil of the gospel.

(34) Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.
(35) I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Be followers together with Paul in working with our own hands to support our own necessities…for MANY are walking “disorderly” and not after the commandment of the apostles. They preach themselves…minding earthly things (what to eat, drink and wear). They are enemies of the cross of Christ as they are nullifying its power among their congregations because of the lack of understanding of the truth of the gospel.

Php 3:17-19 KJV
(17) Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
(18) (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

(19) Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Jesus was a “carpenter”…one who worked with His own hands.
