From this point forth, I will now identify as atheist. Probably about 75% of my reasoning for dumping Christianity has to do with the logical fallacies I've found in its teachings. The other 25% that drove to my identification as an atheist has to do with the bigoted attitudes of ultra-conservative churches, and the sociopolitical turmoil that is inherently produced with the existence of religions. Please list some fallacies to back up your decision.

Politics is everywhere, even in the churches. Did you try to find a less conservative church environment?

These are nice and all but i believe the request was for a "Logical Fallacies." Not general contradictions to popular culture or belief.

The Earth is 4.54 billion years old. The Bible points toward an Earth that was created only a few thousand years ago. Common sense aptly explains the absurdity that is the latter measurement. Mind you, this isn't the only reason that I find the Bible bogus.

I encourage you all to read literature outside of the Bible. And if you have a third-grade reading level, as most people who outright reject scientific fact do, sorry, I can't help you.

Good because the bible does not point to the earth only being a few thousand years old. There is literally no Book Chapter or verse that gives the earth an age.

How about the idea that God is love, vs, church opposition to cervical cancer vacination or psalm 144?

my church is not opposed to vaccination but i believe she should! if you investigate vaccines you'll find some very interesting things.
specifically for cervical cancer, which i have investigated, the story is not that clear and beautiful.
in Greece babies receive around 26 vaccines until the age of 2. 26 vaccines that each of them include not just 1 virus antibody (if i say it correct), i know of one that has 13 antibody viruses!
why would we insert strange substances to a such fragile organism as an infant-baby, when their own immune system is not yet well formed?
why would you receive the so called cervical cancer vaccine, when it's going to be tested on you?

what has God's love to do with rejecting vaccination?
for me, rejecting vaccination shows love to myself and to nature. my body is not to be used by science for whatever reason science may want to use it. also, science does fatal mistakes, which are found after disease or death...that is our disease or death...

Actually, I was a Christian before I went to college and after studying other religions and views, it only strengthened my beliefs. I love talking to people with different beliefs because I am not the type of person to bash people over the head with my own thoughts and not take theirs into consideration. I treat it as a healthy debate. On the other hand, I don’t think that non-believers should necessarily reject the idea that the Bible is true without having a logical argument (since human logic is typically the basis of Atheist natured beliefs).

Atheism is basically the belief that no God or deities exist. Life just happened. Although much of evolution can have a valid argument that seems to make sense, you can only go back in time so far before it is unexplainable. Similar to Christianity, Atheism requires a certain amount of faith as well. The difference is in where the faith lies. Do you believe that a God exists or in a man-made theory?

A few things that science can agree with that also match the Bible:

The Great Flood – The fact that there was a massive flood that covered the earth is agreed upon by science.

Jesus Christ – The fact that he lived is agreed upon by science. Whether or not he was the Son of God is the debate of course.

These are just a few, but do not forget that science is constantly evolving it’s theories as well. Not one time has the Bible later been proven to be false, but previous scientific theories are constantly being re-evaluated due to finding out they were wrong.

Sorry to hear you just made the worst decision of your whole life. But there is still hope for you. You think God will not reveal himself to you. The truth is if you seek after God with a true heart you will find him. I have found God to be the kindest, most loving, and helpful individual on the planet. Personally I think this guy really has had some bad personal experiences. Maybe someone in the church hurt him. Nobody disbelieves in God merely because of supposed "logical fallacies," there's always something personal and emotional that affects them the most.

LOL, not nasty at all. To be honest, from a Christian point of view he has already "failed" but, the Lord will accept failures, rejects etc... at anytime so long as they are true about their repentance.

I'm not going to gloat at all. I've made some major mistakes and had failures of my own in various aspects of life - as we all tend to do.

Actually, I'm not sure why he wanted to post about his rejection in the first place. It's seems like he was wanting to poke a stick at Christian's and gloat by telling us were all wrong.

You asked, I answered what you asked.

My answer simply points to a flood that covered all that was known to be the world. This may or may not mean a planet wide flood. We are told the flood covered the world. We were not specifically told the flood covered the planet, but at the same time were not told it didn't. To assume that it did or did not speaks where the bible does not speak. What it does say is that "the Flood" covered the world.

Do you also wish to cease to be known as a man because of all the sexual violence inflicted by men against defenceless women over the years?

Do you wish to cease to be known as an American because of all the rednecks who have appeared on shows like Jerry Springer over the years?
