]We do rest (Exodus 23:3; Deuteronomy 5:14). . .and in the NT we do God's own full-time rest in the full-time salvation rest from our own works to save, and our rest in Jesus' work which has saved us. We enter God's own full-time Sabbath rest only by faith n the person and work of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sin and right standing with God's justice.
And we do in the NT. . .in Gods own full-time rest.
I really, really like God's own full-time Sabbath rest of the NT, where the work of justification/salvation is done by Jesus Christ for me.

As others have pointed out this is not the Biblical view. You’re welcome to believe as you wish, but it doesn’t change any of the commandments that are still a requirement. We are saved by grace through our faith but God’s reward is based on our works (FRUITS).

Revelations 22:12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

I'm willing to bet everything on the spirit guiding me into all truth, yes!

Jesus didn't come to destroy the law and the prophets he came to fulfill them.

We are not meant to discard any part of God's word or commandments.
I am glad the Spirit is guiding you in Truth! When we pray and ask for God's will to be ours and ask for His Spirit , He will guide you in Truth. The Spirit can never guide you to breaking God's laws or to sin.

I think what Jesus meant by fulfill is to keep Mathew 5:17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

Because the very next verse says:

18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Jesus magnified God's laws Isaiah 42:21 Mathew 5:21,22 Mathew 5:27,28

God bless

I know what obsolete means. What it DOES NOT mean is that it has disappeared.

Having the second covenant in effect does not remove the first. Read the Bible!
Okay. . .in the context of Hebrews 8:6-13, which compares the Mosaic Covenent to the New Covenant, the "second" is the New Covenant, and the "first" is the Mosaic Covenant.

But in the context of Romans 5:18-21 and Galatians 3:17-19, adding the Mosaic (second) Covenant of works (Galatians 3:19; Romans 5:20) did not null the Abrahamic (first) covenant of grace.
Romans 7:21-25 might help you understand...

So, I find the law that when I want to do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God in my inner being. But I see a different law in my members waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that is in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

As others have pointed out this is not the Biblical view.
"Pointing out" is not demonstrating. They must exegete Hebrews 3:7-4:13, presenting the points involved in a coherent narrative; i.e.,

1) why a letter to NT Hebrews about the Sabbath
2) the letter's full-time Sabbath-rest (4:3b-4), not weekly Sabbath-rest
3) references to failure to enter Canaan (3:7-11, 15-18, 4:1, 11)
4) references to disobedience (3:16, 18, 4:6, 11)
5) references to unbelief (3:12, 19, 4:2),
(references 3-5 having nothing to do with the Sabbath commandment).
You’re welcome to believe as you wish, but it doesn’t change any of
the commandments that are still a requirement.
And in the New Covenant, we observe the fourth commandment full-time (not just one day a week). . .in our full-time salvation rest from our own work to save, and our full-time rest in Jesus' finished work which saved us.
We are saved by grace through our faith but God’s reward is based on our works (FRUITS).

Revelations 22:12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

Those things against which there is no law aren’t works of the hands, which have been washed at the brass lever before entrance and feet washed by Christ within the tent of meeting. They are love, peace, joy etc to which we are to hold ourselves in discipline/discipleship. It’s the allowance/willingness/acceptance of Christ to remove ourselves out of the way to give access/acsension. Hence an inward work of the Holy Spirit that in turn gives light to others. In essence a permeating within reflected clearer outwardly.
Or something like that.

Jesus also told us if you love Me you will obey. John 14:15.

We are saved by grace through our faith, but people seem to forget its a gift from God that He can give and also take away. To remain in God’s love we are told John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

Our obedience is one way we show love and respect to our Savior. Just like a child does for his parents when they obey the rules.

God bless

I agree with all of the above but a closer look at obedience reveals that Christ’s obedience was following the leading of the Holy Spirit that He knew to be the way of the Father.

Having bridged that gap for us He left the example to follow. What He suffered to freely give of Himself is a suffering to accept because of pride, etc. but thru His flesh our flesh is dead.
Alive to Christ is not doing good deeds but doing the good work we were intended for, which is realizing the true nature.

I don’t think we obey to be saved, we obey because of our changed heart and transformation with the Help of the Holy Spirit. It all comes from love. Is this what you were meaning?

If you believe that the spirit will never lead you into breaking God's laws, then whatever actions the spirit leads you to take, you know that they are not breaking God's laws.

The law and the prophets do not pass away, until heaven and Earth pass away, until all is accomplished.

Jesus said he came to fulfill the law and the prophets, I believe he accomplished that.

Peace

There is a spiritual war and more than one spirit, there is the “other” spirit and the Spirit of Truth. Jesus promises a Helper to keep His commandments, not break them. John 14:15-18

God’s laws will never be abolished:

“It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail” (Luke 16:17).
“My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips” (Psalm 89:34).
“All His precepts [commandments] are sure. They stand fast forever and ever” (Psalm 111:7, 8).

So if your definition of fulfill means “no longer required” I think the scriptures disagree.

God bless

If it is up to us to decide which spirit is telling the truth I believe that would require us to lean on our own understanding.

I agree, none of God's words fail.

I talked about my ideas about the word fulfill in post #1389

Did you read the scripture quoted? It says reward is given according to his (our) work, not His work. God knows us by our FRUITS. We are saved by grace (His gift to give or not) based on our faith which is demonstrated through our actions.
If we believe shouldn’t that included all the scriptures throughout old and new that tells us to keep His commandments, its how we show God our love and how we know Him. It’s also one of the last scriptures in the Bible, not there by accident.

Revelation 22: 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

Our works in Christ. Him working through us.

It is His Faith, given to us. Anything less is corrupted belief.

Don’t believe the lie. You cannot be like God. You do not know good from evil.

Trust in Him. He knows your weakness.

What I think I hear you saying is our sin is greater than our God.

What we can not do on our own is possible with Him.

We are told there are some who do keep God’s commandments,

Revelations 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Yes, that’s a good commandment, but not the only one.
If you obey this one, you will obey the others.

If you disobey this one, you disobey the others.

God demands perfection.
