Hi,
I've been forced to remove the original Emma's Drive By Reputating Club by Snowy because it's just too large - it had nearly 60,000 posts in it - each time a member reads it or posts in it, it caused the database to lock. The software is designed to seach for ALL posts in a thread, and a large thread causes problems for all other users.
Basically, the forum software is not designed to handle threads that are over 10,000 replies in length - it is not an issue with CF or our server - it's the way the software was designed.
Essentially, I'm going to make a rule where mods will lock threads that get to 10,000 replies or more, and request that a new thread (Part 2) be created.
This will help CF continue to load quickly, and prevent database slowdowns due to excessively long threads.
I apologize for any inconvenience. I know people will ask "Why can't you just lock the thread?" Well, if it was 10,000 posts, I can just lock it. People reading it will not cause too much problems. But with 60,000 posts, the thread is too long. I can't even split the thread as the software can't handle that - it just times out.
I've made a new Part 2 thread that people can continue posting in, if they so wish.
