  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just updated my computer from WINDOWS ME to WINDOWS XP today...

and I keep getting this horrible error message! It says something like:

An unexpected error occured; we will now shut down your system in 30 (countdown) seconds. Error was initiated by NT Authority\System

Error occured by call service terminated unexpectedly

Oh no  Did you download and run the worm removal tool? I hate to ask, but I feel that I have to.

"Switch operating systems" is a pretty drastic recommendation for this problem.

Make sure you've done all the critical updates that the Windows Update site (accessed through Start->Programs->Windows Update) says you need. Update the virus definitions for your virus scanner; if you don't have one, go buy one. It's a necessity nowadays unfortunately. You can also try running Mcafee Stinger which is kind of like a stand-alone virus scan which only detects the most common viruses & worms. I'm pretty sure it can remove the MSBlast worm.

ya know what, I'm getting tired of everyone telling people to go to another OS totally instead of helping to fix the problem......why can't some of you just step down off your pedistool for a few minutes and help them fix the problem instead of condeming what OS they use?.......face it, most people don't want to bother with changing to another OS because it's way above their heads and it just isn't feasable........

well, if you had a lousy truck that broke down every month or so and leaked hydraulic fluids and gas, I would tell you to sell it and get a new one.

sometimes the painful maintenance required to keep it alive is just not worth it.

same principle.

My point is, people come here and ask the questions they do because they want to solve the problem they are having, they don't want to do a total overhaul of their systems, especially with something that has next to no support and is more of a pain than windows to setup and get all the hardware working.
