How does that make you any better than the person who offended you, then? Saying something like "ppl should not contest me" because whatever garbage someone gives you will "come back at u in ten different ways" just makes you seem like a cyber-bully.

And this is coming from someone who has had four infractions under CF's old penal system for holding to the same philosophy you describe.

What was your point? It looks to me like one long rant about another member.

I'll be the first to admit that I do not agree with Snowbunny's theological views at all. However, one CAN separate theology from friendship, and she and I have done so. She's a kind-hearted and wonderful person whom I happen to disagree with (sometimes vehemently) on a theological level. I really wish you'd try to separate her beliefs from her personality here.

I also think it's kind of rude to copy and post private messages in threads without the other party's permission.

Oh please. You're pushing people around, plain and simple. People do not agree with you so you start lobbing the insults. We have a right to contest you just as much as you have a right to contest the rest of us.

As for the "walking away looking foolish" part, it was very late in my little corner of the planet. I will also say that you can be hard to follow by always talking like you are text messaging.

i just checked out the other thread. i see they have removed most of the posts with negative comments in an attempt to alleviate the situation. so i'm happy again. yea! even though this situation was foul at least i got my self-respect and dignity back. that's all i ever wanted. i am very grateful and appreciative. no. contest and a normal discussion, a regular Q&A, (which this is what i prefer) r two different things, entirely.

contest means:

to challenge Questioning a statement and demanding an explanation from another person.

attempting to force one to defend themselves.

projecting hostility and making false accusations when questioning another person in order to incite a similar response.

baiting basically.

sorta like what u did in the above post, on post 184, and then some. sadly, the best u could do was mention text messaging. lol.

anyway, a regular Q&A is just two people talking. this is how i conduct myself. see the difference???

Religious intolerance is a problem, yes. But is there really anything that can be done about it? Some people are required by their religion to be "intolerant" of other faiths, and to deny them that right is to be intolerant of their belief structure. Furthermore, I'd rather someone be honest about their distaste for other religions than put forth a false olive branch, all the while considering others blasphemers, idoloters, and/or infidels.

The best that can really be hoped for is for the rhetoric of intolerance to be scaled back, and people to be civil towards one another.

Yeah, definitely. Though, if people truly treated others as though they were themselves, we wouldn't have any of these problems.
