  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think that is incorrect, do you have a scripture that says god judges the same people twice?

Now you're misunderstanding what I am saying. :) In allowing us to make a decision for Him, we have already been judged by God when that decision is made and we either got to hell(as shown in the parable) or our spirit is in His presence. The spirit of those not in Christ cannot be in God's presence because they are covered by sin. And if He looked away from His Son when He took on our sin, why would He allow the unsaved who do not want to be covered by His Son's blood, in His presence?

As Jesus makes clear, those people's bodies may be in the grave, but their spirits are in hell in torment because of the decision they made.

And before the great white throne of judgment, they will give an account of their sins and be cast into the eternal fires of the lake. They have not given an account up until this point.

Perhaps you do not understand what I have been saying, when you are absent your body e.g. Your spirit has gone, It does go to God, but judgement yet awaits, then will come the new body and the soul will awaken from it's sleep.

Now, there may be things you have read that indicate something different, or you may have a different way of interputing these verses but this whole thing about the spirit and sleep is directly from the bible and when translated properly the word hell does not exist.

I'm not getting into words because the Word directs me not to. But I know that if a person dies without Christ, that person is in hell until the final judgment.
