how do you explain Elisha's bones? :) or the woman touching Christ's cloak? or the mud that Christ used to heal the blind man?

the Bible supports the idea of sacrament.

If you say - "it's the faith these people had that helped them, not the objects" - well we believe this too. The power is not in the relics themselves. God's grace doesn't even come from them, but rather He uses them as an occasion of His grace, because of people's faith. But we venerate them because we have respect for them.. it's strange to me how people would venerate a country's flag but not anything spiritual :)

Hmmm, so you venerate your mom's hairdryer, but - as you said - you would wash your car with Christ's robes.

I have a question..would you wash your car with the flag of your country? if not - why Christ's robes? why the difference?

honest question..

Peace

It's all part of the miracle power of God. We don't need to venerate the articles in any way. It is all from the hand of God. I venerate His hand.

we worship Him, we thank Him, but we don't disrespect the things He chooses to use. Because when He uses them, they are consecrated to HIs purpose.

I never said it's not "from the hand of God", in fact, I said the opposite! :)
God's grace doesn't even come from them, but rather He uses them as an occasion of His grace, because of people's faith.

My question is this: how did, hypothetically, Christ's robe get into your possession in the first place?

Just wondering because it would make one interesting sequel to "The Robe".

Sorry, but the mentality of "nothing is sacred" is what leads to evils like abortion and euthanasia because after all there is nothing sacred about unborn life, it isn't here yet. And there is nothing sacred about the elderly and terminally ill because they can provide no material good for the rest of humanity. Let us dispose of them all because they are not sacred (for the record, I am not a supporter of either abortion or euthanasia).

Without God, there is nothing and all is allowed. Without reminders of His presence, such as His robe, than we forget.

would you let someone rip up a picture of your family?

Not if I didn't allow it. There is no similarity to relics in such a thing. To insist there is an odd form of rationalization.
