Being redeemed after they go to hell-that is purgatory.

Spirits do not go to hell before purgatory. Spirits go straight to purgatory when they die.

"Purgatory (Lat., "purgare", to make clean, to purify) in accordance with Catholic teaching is a place or condition of temporal punishment for those who, departing this life in God's grace, are, not entirely free from venial faults, or have not fully paid the satisfaction due to their transgressions."

Yes -

Mathew 1:20. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

1 King 3:5. At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?”
