The Catholic Church committed many atrocities over the ages and there were the Salem witch trials but they didn't happen because of belief in the flood and they no more reflect Christianity than feeding Christians to lions and crucifying them reflect atheismWhy do a survey when all I need to do is quote you?
This isn't news. Christians have been killing each other (and everyone else) in the name of God for centuries.

He only asks me to do two things. God is not speaking to people and telling them to do immoral things. People who say he is are dishonest or disturbedSo He wouldn't ask you to do anything immoral. But I guess what we're trying to decide is whose sense of morality would govern the decision as to whether it was actually was immoral. Yours or God's.

You must not be aware of the Trinity. An act of God is an act of Jesus. There is one God in three persons.Jesus? Who brought Jesus into the discussion? I can't recall Jesus killing anyone. In fact, He was instrumental in saving a few lives. Let's stick with God drowning the planet and God giving you the commands.
I haven't read any Farnsy either. But I've read a couple of books by Barnsie. He lives opposite my daughter by the way. Nice guy.
Jesus is God. He's the second person of the Trinity. If God did it and yourThe point is about what the OT said God did. Not what the NT said Jesus did. Accepting the former is a problem. Accepting the latter is not. Please try to stay focussed.

You lifted one sentence out of a post and misrepresented what it meant
Keeping the Bible hidden from the public and killing anyone who tried to translate it was clearly not Gods will and if they read it they knew thatIndeed not. But yet again I have to remind you that belief in the flood is not problematic. It's that people accept that drowning a planet is morally acceptable as long as it's God's will. And gee, what do you think the people who were committing the atrocities and burning the witches doing? They thought they were doing God's will. Exodus 22:18 actually tells them not to suffer a witch to live. He commands them to kill witches.
I've been trying to put this point over for I don't know how long and now you actually verify it in your own post. It seems there's not much else to discuss now that the penny has dropped.
Maybe your God tells people to do immoral things. Mine doesn't. Show me in the Bible where it says to burn anyone. In the first instance, you have no idea whether He does or doesn't. Secondly, if someone says He is then that's the problem in itself. Whether he's a liar or deranged is utterly beside the point (notwithstanding that from my point of view, those are the only two options). Thirdly, as I noted above, God has already commanded man to do what we consider to be evil. What else would you call burning a woman who is thought to be a witch. Or stoning someone for adultry.
If you truly believe that God cannot command evil then these acts can be carried out with no need to have an internal debate as to the morality.
In one post you differentiate between God and Jesus and when called out for it you don't address it you just keep rambling on about something elseGood grief. You simply don't understand. I'm reasonably adept at the English language and I'm certain the problem isn't this end. But I have to keep on repeating myself time after time after time. Nobody is blaming God. Or Jesus. Or the trinity.
We are investigating what happens when people believe that God acts in a way which we would normally define as evil. Or commands that which we would normally define as evil. God is not in the dock here.
And you have given your answer in post 683.
