Freda is the quickest way to get to Church , AND it's door to door [ providing I can park in the street where the Church is ]

Umm who do you think is paying ?

If the priest subbing for ours [ on holiday and in Ukraine ] is coming up by train from London on Saturday evening and heading back down on Sunday evening the poor man has to eat before he goes back down - so we [ deacon and myself] take him out to eat after Liturgy - gives us a chance to talk as well

welllll, i did it, fellow pubsters---i sent an e-mail this afternoon to the local Catholic church asking about when/if they're starting their RCIA classes. So I've put out the fleece as it were.

Their web site is spartin and the calendar for Sept has no dates filled in for anything at all, so we'll see what hapens.

I can't even tell from the web site if they have a priest there or not. Two men are listed, but no titles or initials either before or after their names. maybe there's no priest????

They do have mass and confession times and a street address and an office phone number listed, but nothing else.

i feel like i've shot off a paper airplane into outer space.

but why would an office be open on a saturday? surely they must get some time off, and since it's not an emergency i wouldn't want to roust someone out of an afternoon nap.

Duuno about the USA - but here the Offices are normally staffed by volunteers going in for a few hours . Personally I'd leave it now till Monday - remember MC is down under like Haylea so the are well and truly in advance of us
