Hi there FOC , it's strange but out of all the scriptures that put paid to the notion of "man's Free-will" (and there are many) , Hebrews 6 is a classic!Follower of Christ said:Well, I suppose this thread has sealed that Im not a Calvinist, nor ever could be.
I cannot find it in myself to outright dismiss clear scripture warning against tasting of the heavenly gift then falling away.
Guess this leaves me somewhere in between the two..![]()
Consider what it is that God desires ......"God commands all men everywhere to Repent" , yet in Hebrews 6 we are told explicitly that those who reject the Lord after following Him cannot repent again!
Now my question is why can someone who falls away not choose to repent at will ?
What on earth has happened to that Apostates so called "free-will" ?
The scripture says it is impossible for them to recover..........did they lose their "free-will" ?
No! they never had the power within themselves to repent in the first place..............it was a gift and God refuses to give that gift a second time.
Greetings Cygnus
