I was wondering if anyone here has heard of the "sword of the spirit" communities?

The Sword of the Spirit

I'm looking into it at the moment. It's a very big part of my girlfriend's life so I'm looking to see if we could be comfortable joining it together when we marry. I've read a few articles and it seems more scripturally grounded than most charismatic groups and far less liberal than most ecumenical groups

I'm meeting the leader of the scottish branch next month to find out more

Do you think that it is possible to be both Reformed and Charismatic?

Only in a modern pluralistic world that allows people to redefine the emaning of terms as they see fit. However how can one be a continueist and also hold to the reformed understanding of Sola Scriptura - I know men like Wayne Grudem try it, but in the end they redefine prophesy to a less then biblical understanding!

Plenty of Christians were both Reformed and 'charismatic' prior to the post-modern era. In fact it wasn't unusual at all.

The Baptist confession of Faith 1689:
seeing the gifts and callings of God are without repentance,

Just a few examples off the top my head:

FB Meyer (author of several dozen books) 1847 - 1929

My own great-grandfather a Baptist minister 1866 - 1924

Evan Roberts 1878 - 1951 of the Welsh revival of 1904

peace,
Simon
