CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I came across this in my studies this morning:
God's economy of abundance often has little to do with material blessing. In God's economy, abundance is often measured in wisdom and knowledge of Himself. It is then that we are truly blessed. Wisdom cannot be gained through intellectual pursuits. Wisdom comes only through experience. Real wisdom comes from the kinds of experiences that come only through the deepest tests. Lessons of refinement, including prison accompanied by burdens, lead us through the fire and water. This is the territory that must be traveled to reach that place of abundance. It would seem strange that a loving God would use such means with His children. What we often fail to realize is that God's measuring stick is the character and likeness of Jesus Christ Himself in each of us. This cannot be gained through a life of ease and pleasure. Ease and pleasure fail to refine.
I think this is often something people fail to realize. They think God's promise is to bless them with material things and it's not. Strangely enough we get blessed with trials which help us to know more about the Lord which in turn brings us into a closer and more intimate relationship with him. I guess it all depends on what one considers to be true riches. *Wink*

I've observed that it's also measured in how deeply a person lives for Christ.
A person that has made sacrifices for Him experiences a very different kind of life than a person who just adds a Jesus fish to the back of his car. And in every important way, it's a richer and more abundant life, a fuller life.

Shopping for movies becomes a whole different ball game when you're a christian. I try to stick with PG movies or childrens movies. The PG ones are usually comedies. Laughter really is the best medicine.

She has to come to it on her own in God's time. Not have something shoved down her throat that she's not ready for. When it's time, God will equip her with what she needs. *Hug*

God uses other people to express his will sometimes. She doesn't like it when someone disagrees with her once she has her mind made up. She does it everywhere she posts on CF. She's really beaten some people up in the book forum for disagreeing with her, but I guess when she does it, it's different.
Tell her she can have the forum back. I'll stay away.
