I remember that. It began two weeks after I became a Baha'i.
The occupation lasted for 71 days.

That said, I have no idea how to fix the wrongs done to your people. Obviously the land can't be given back at this point.
Yeah, most of us Americans are a mixture of things.i have no idea myself. i guess western n culture? Ive never thought about this. i have British and German bloodlines in my family but we dont really celebrate that....i think?
it would have to be done from the ground up on an individual basis.
it all starts with the transfer of ownership of individual parcels of private property either by gift or by sale.
That would have to be individuals deciding to do it. To be perfectly honest, were I a landowner I would not give my land away.
Greetings Sister Red Fox , thank you for your gracious invitation to join your sit-down circle . I'll read the 33 pages to understand the mood & flavor of your , Talking Circle .

My name is Red Fox. I want to sound harsh, but it's something personal and it's very important to me. Thank you for your understanding. And things aren't so good around my house, because of the snowy weather. I have unhappy, grumpy children who are sick and tired of the snow.

The report follows up on the 2005 Department of Justice report that showed the overall violent crime rate among American Indians and Alaska Natives was 100 per 1,000 persons, meaning that one out of 10 American Indians has been a victim of violence.
The study also found that “American Indians are more likely than people of other races to experience violence at the hands of someone of a different race,” with 70 percent of reported violent attacks committed by non-Indians.
Report: Native Americans most likely to be killed by policeThe Lakota People’s Law Project sent out a press release on Wednesday with a 15-page report detailing the unequal treatment of Native Americans under the United States criminal justice system. The report is comprised of key findings and proposed steps of action to alleviate issues such as extraneous violent crime against Natives and unfair police treatment. Following this important release, key players in the fight against such discrimination led a Native Lives Matter march in Rapid City, South Dakota which attracted 100 people.
FBI: Indians Still Most Assaulted in Hate Crimes (Update)Oklahoma Indian activist Brenda Golden said the reason Indians figure so highly among race groups for incidents on hate crimes is that natives are historically viewed as scapegoats in the American conscience. "People are gonna prey on the weak," she said."And we are weak because of 500 years of oppression." Golden said that resentment from general society characterizes Indians as receiving ill-deserved social benefits like food, health care and casino dividends. With these misperceptions, others view Indians as prime targets that arise from frustration and other factors. "People think we get all these benefits when don’t," she said. "And they also associate us with the past...that we killed white people indiscriminately when we were fighting for our land."
