God bless you, Spirit Winds. I'm here too. I will probably mostly read and not post much. If something specifically touches my heart; I will share it in a post.

I have empathy for you in your life-time situation. You have only one life to live and you want God to use that life to touch and change NDN's with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

There is so much healing to do and it starts with white people, because of the atrocities that happened; because of all that was done...in the name of religion!!!

On my part, although I was not alive at that time, I want to apologize to you and your people on behalf of my ancestors. Truly, I mean this from my heart, sister.

I'm studying to be a Social Worker. We study oppression of races and cultures. My heart breaks at what was done to the Cherokees on the Trail of Tears, and especially all those filthy, unethical "schools" that were made for Indian children (boarding schools) where they were supposed to be "assimilated" into our culture. Yeah, right. (I had to do a 12 page term paper on that in History.) It wasn't easy to read, research and write about that. I love children and it's too hard to even imagine, but it really did happen. Again, I'm sorry. I apologize on behalf of my race and my people.

I take your hands in mine and I look you in the eyes, sister, and I tell you that if there is anything I can do now, today, to help, just ask me. For real, I will do it.

Yes, our Great Father has called me to be a messenger for him to reach out to all my relations. It is my heart's deepest desire to bring peace and reconciliation to the red man, and to all Indigenous peoples.

And such mistreatment was not done to just my Ancestors, but also to the First Nations people of Canada and Aborigines in the Commonwealth of Australia. Their Ancestors also suffered at the hand of oppression and racism.

Yes, that about sums up my day thus far. Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, laundry, cleaning, cleaning, laundry and so on. Yuck! But it has to be done.

3. How would you confront the poverty, drug and alcohol abuse, and suicides that plague American NDNs today living on a Rez?
