Yeah Yeah I'm jumping on the bandwagen here. :p

I have four DS games right now since I just got my DS Lite about a week ago:

- Two Nintendogs games - I don't play them too much really.
- Finally Fantasy III
- Pokemon Pearl

I was wondering if you guys that have DSes could recomend me some games for future reference? I really like RPG games and games with WiFi capability. I thought about getting Avatar the last airbender and The Sims 2 Pets, but I'm not sure yet. I do want to get Code Lyoko when it comes out. Not sure when it does though.

Any recomendations?

I'm really enjoying Lunar: Dragon Song. It's an RPG with some open ended play and it seems to be quite large. Deep Labyrinth is pretty cool too. Other than those, I only have Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Brain Age. Castlevania is fun and Brain Age is positively addictive but I favor the RPGs.

I'm thinking about getting Age of Empires but I want to read some more on it first.

Please do not get Avatar and Sims 2 Pets. Those are average games. You want good to excellent games.

Here are my recommendations:
  • Mario Kart DS
  • Advance Wars DS. This is a challenging game. It has RPG elements a tiny bit. Its a little like Final Fantasy tactics and fire emblem. It is challenging but addictive and FUN! (My favourite game for the DS) It is a turn based game thats loosely based on war. It has a interesting story, but the gameplay is fun. Hundreds of hours here!
  • New Super Mario Bros. Don't be surprised if the main quest is boring and uninspired. After you dash through it in a few hours, its lots of fun finding all the stars!
  • Animal Crossing Wild World- particularly if you haven't played the original.
  • Both Castlevania games. Excellent real-time RPG.

Personally, I enjoy Mario and Luigi: Brothers in Time, or whatever it's called (I never can remember the exact name). It's got some fun platforming puzzle elements along with RPG style battle. When I actually have time to play (which isn't too often now-a-days, dang classes...), I have a lot of fun with it.

I think I've heard some good things about Perfect Blue (I think that's the name), but I could be wrong.

I just got Pokemon Pearl. It's great, eh?

Anyway, I recommend Kirby Canvas Curse, New! Super Mario Bros., Ouendan (Elite Beat Agents is the english version), Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, and Advanced Wars: Dual Strike.

I couldn't get into Lunar, myself...Shame, too, since the first and second are my favorite JRPGs.

Totally recommend Kirby Squeak Squad ( sooooooooo addictive and a great game to boot ) and the New Super Mario Brothers. Mario Kart DS was good, as were the Castlevanias and the Warios.

I would not recommend Chocobo Tales unless you like difficult things, as some of the mini-games can drive you absolutely insane. Nor would I recommend Lost In Blue 2. The concept sounded so cool to me and then the game ended up making me want to throw it across the room and stomp on Amy and Jack for being the tiredest, hungriest, thirstiest, most useless human beings to ever exist.

I have to recommend three games, one of which you have already purchased:

Metroid Prime: Hunters (I love it, I give it about a 4/5)
New Super Mario Bros. (Great, 4.5/5)
Final Fantasy III (you already have it, but I'd like to recommend it to others, its really addicting, and sort of hard [for me], 4/5)

There is one game I have came across for the DS that I really do not like, and I do not recommend any of you to purchase it:

Burnout Legends

I haven't played any of them but want to try them. I'm pretty sure my wife would like them as well.

Same here (minus the wife part). I've heard they're amazingly fun, great story line and such. If I hadn't just dropped the money on Pokemon Pearl I probably would have gotten a used copy of Phoenix Wright...

With love,
Simon

Advance Wars, as others have said, is a great turn-based strategy title. Animal Crossing is an engrossing title to pick up for 15 minutes or so every day. If you liked the original Sonic titles, Sonic Rush is a great return to the days when the franchise actually produced good games. Meteos is a nifty puzzler, and Super Mario 64 DS is the classic game with several new twists. I highly recommend any of these titles.

New Super mario bros
mario kart ds
castlevania games
