  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

gee, I never thought about "vegan mashed potatoes". Our church uses cheese in a lot of their dishes, and eggs. My favorite mashed potatoes are made with cream cheese. It gives them a rich flavor, and the cream cheese makes them the smoothest and creamiest I've ever eaten.

I never thought about cream cheese being "verboten", and since butter has been used with our potlucks and visitor's lunch....well, I just never thought about it, I guess.

But I'd sure be interested in whatever recipes anyone else has.

I'm still waiting for Honor to show me how to make gluten steak. LOL Hey, I know, Lainie - VIDEO TAPE her making it!!

I made gluten steaks from scratch the other day (my first attempt) and they weren't too shabby if I do say so myself. I had to call Honor about 20 times during the process though!

One thing I didn't like about mine is that they were way too thick for my liking. Honor said she uses a tortilla press, and I'm seriously considering investing in one of those.

Making gluten steaks is something you have to clear an entire morning for...it takes a really long time! Well worth the wait though!

lol--Lainie--this one is easy. Peel and cook your potates as normal. Then all I do instead of using milk and butter or margarine. I use Tofutti sour cream and "Soy Garden" Butter made by Earth Balace. Then just sea salt and ground kelp.

Sounds easy enough!! They're fantastic too! I'm curious though, where do you get that Soy Garden butter? It tastes better than real butter!

I get it at Cook's health food store. Even Don's fussy grandson devours it on the homemade bread he makes me bake whenever he comes to visit!!!! lol

Gluten steaks are like REALLY tender chicken fried steaks Jon. They're absolutely yummy, and of course vegetarian. I could FedEx you a batch but they wouldn't be very good I'm afraid. ;)

You mentioned Arizona. I actually live in Arkansas though. :) If you ever make it this way, let me know so I can make fun of your ears (lol...you know I'm kidding)!

I have a friend from Missouri that is 6'10", and used to be a pro wrestler. Talk about a tall drink of water!
