Hi guys, ok I'm going to university next year and I'm going to be relativly poor (my goal is to get through uni with the smallest student loan I can manage) so I'm looking for recipes that will keep me well fed (aiming for two filling meals a day, that way I wont snack on junk food and make my expense higher than it already will be). I'm also interested in relativly simple ones because it takes me quite a while to commit things to memory.

Oh and as a guide to recipes, I dont really like fish all that much, tuna fish on a sandwich is nice but apart from that fish is off the menu. Also I'm not keen on eating red meet on its own (I quite like it as mince meat but thats only in a pasta meal), though oddly I like the occasional steak. On the whole though I much preffer white meat.

Any help you guys can give me would be very much appricated.

Hello!!

Ok, first we need to know if you will have your own apartment??? Will you have a full size stove and fridge?? How much storage space will be available??? Answer these questions and I can give you tons of ideas...I have never been to college but I have raised a family on a limited budget....
God Bless,
Joy

Thanks, um its hard to say what the facilities would be like cause I'm very early on in the process but most likely it'll be a small dorm room with a comunal kitchen. But like I said I dont really know. I think facilities will be a standard sized kitchen so that should be alright.

Do you live at home now or are you on your own? What other foods do you like besides white meat? Which meal /meals is usually your biggest? Potatoes , eggs, peanut butter, instant macronie & cheese, etc. are some staple foods, but you would not want to eat just 2 or 3 things all the time. Do you like fruit and raw vegetable? You could plan to eat a strong hardy breakfast, take a sandwhich, fruit, raw vegetable, etc. for lunch so you would not have to run home & cook. Then cook yourself a good balanced meal for the evening meal. It really depends on your cooking skills & if you really like to cook from scratch or do you prefer the ready made stuff?
