  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

 I bought the movie on dvd last year, and it is good to watch every couple of years, but hard to concentrate on too frequently...at least in my sober state of mind. :)

I could never figure out what the big deal was about that movie... even when I was into taking loads of drugs. Overrated if you ask me, but then you probably aren't asking me so it doesn't matter much, does it? ;)

OP: Bummed that I lost the auction for King Crimson alums Jamie Muir & Michael Giles' CD Ghost Dance. I'll keep trying...

I really like parts of it, but overall it seems to drag. The "Comfortably Numb" part of the video is very nice. :) Kanks!

My dad got me the movie for Christmas last year. It was certianly interresting. I have only watched it a few times, you are right, its only something you watch every couple of years^_^

My friend Mike and I watched it this summer, and after the movie he was like "uh, so what just happened" LOL
I've heard is quite the trip when you watch it, uh- not sober? :D

Classic Yes

You all have no idea how excited I was to buy this CD, as I haven't bought CDs for myself for many a long year. :) I have no albums by Yes..........they weren't a band I listened to back in the 70's. So I bought this one first to get a feel for their sound and it was a wonderful revelation to hear them. I love them!! They're awesome!!

The singer..........Cygnus told me his name is Jon Anderson......has a superb voice!! I love the song 'Wonderous Stories' and also 'You and I', but the whole album is simply awesome.

Yeah, old Yes is awesome; I'm not really that keen on their output from the '80s-->present, but you can't go wrong with any of their albums from the '70s. I think my favorite is probably Yessongs, the first live album. Good stuff...

Back to the OP:
Iannis Xenakis-- Kraanerg
Guru Guru-- UFO + Hinten
Art Zoyd-- Faust
Grateful Dead-- Dick's Picks 31 (Philadelphia Civic Center 8/4-5/74, Roosevelt Stadium 8/6/74)
