You Must Receive From Above
John 3:27. John answered and said, A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.
John 3:31-33. He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony.
He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true.
John 8:23. And He said to them, You are from beneath; I am from above.
You are of this world; I am not of this world.
The Promise of the Holy Spirit
John 7:37-39. On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying,
If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.
But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive;
for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 10:17, 18. Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may receive it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down by Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to receive it again. This command I have received from My Father.
